Morning all  -  bit of  better news  (if you can call it that)  attest  I am  slowly getting the  hand of the  on screen keyboard  and  usiing other  techniques  for  typing  like using  the  "Highlight"  then  delete  button  if I spell  something wrong,  its  tedious  and  long winded  but works, and  with the screen  I just don't look at the  bottom.

Now  the  bad news  -  the other  evening while walking into our kitchen  I decided  to have a  full face down fall  onto  our tiled  floor  via  hitting our  upright fridge - freezer  and  side  unit  also  brought  some  shelving  vegetable racks  down with me,  I landed  on my  knees  and  hands  - missed  my head,   I ended  up bruising my  side  with  saw  rib region  and  more  pain  to my  already  damaged knee  (from a  previous fall)  and  saw  hands  from taking the weight.

Yep  fun days  lol.

Sorry to hear of your misfortunes OC. Life seems to wait until you are on your knees before lining up a big kick. I hope you get a speedy recovery from all three events.

Lifes full of it though. The girl friend decided the full tub of dietary fibre was out of date and dumped it down the sink (Don't ask me why) and ran water into it. Blocked the whole thing up. The plumber just finished installing a new waste disposal and drain line.

Hi  folks,    before  you  think  "yippy an update"    no such luck  for now,  I have picked up a  strange eye condition, that  led me  last evening to  call  the  out of hours  medical people  for advice,  For the  last week  (When it started)   I am  getting  a  kaleidoscope  type  anomaly  happing in my  vision  even with my eyes closed,  they last  for a  few minutes  than shrink in size  before  vanishing   -  its happened    to me about Four  times  now  with a  gap  of  a   few days  when I was  fine.

My vision   needs  glasses  but I have not had me  eyes tested in a  while.

The  phone call  I did  - I was asked many questions  to  narrow down the  cause  -  and  they  cut out anything needing  hospital action - but advised  me to see  and  optician  for  an eye test.

It doesn't rain  - it pours  with my model building  lol.

Make sure you go to a good one, the first one I went to missed my Eyelid cancer it was only later that a different optician refered me to the hospital eye clinic. If the first one had been on the ball I may not have had to have my eye lid removed !

Hope it goes well

OC,

I had something like that.  The specialist called it a migraine without headache, and often happens to gentlemen of a certain maturity👨🏼‍🦳.  Fortunately only had it 2 or three times, it was a bit disorientating when it happened. It was a few years ago but I think the specialist said it was not serious and could be controlled through medication.  Hopefully that is the same outcome for you and you can get back to your miniatures.

Cheers
Craig

Thank you all for  the  kind  replies  - I have not been  on  while  having tests  on my vision  - I am  suffering from ocular  migraines   caused by  eye strain from the  wrong glasses  and   too much  computer  usage,  I have  got a   new  glass prescription to pick up next week   for  Two  new sets  of glasses,  in the mean time  - its  less  comp  use  and  regular  paracetamol.

Good afternoon  all,    I have  spent some  time  today  giving my  build  some serious  thought,  I think  I may struggle  to  do  small scale  figure  making - so  perhaps  its time  to see  if I can sell  what I have  done so far as a work in progress   for  someone  else  to  continue it.  I  would not have  a  clue  how  much  it is  worth  or  if anyone  would  be  interested.

Sad  but  if I am  not going to  do it credit  -  perhaps its time  to  pass it on.

Before you do that, I would wait until you actually get your new glasses, then take one of your figure pieces with you to your doctor's appointment and discuss your vision issues with him/her. When the doctor has the physical figure in front of him, seeing its actual size and how you hold it to paint, he can recommend ways to continue painting without straining you eyes or your financial budget.  You're too good a modeler to give up just yet.

Thank you kindly Jack,    I am  not  being seen through my doctors  for  my eyes, it  was-is  with my  local  opticians   and  it would not be  very practical  to take  one of my  figures  there,   I already  had special  scans  on my eyes, and have been told  the condition can still happen  any time  (good  job I don't drive).

Thats very sad news for those of us that have watched the progress of thi fantastic work. The vignettes you have shown so far have been spectacular and it seems such a shame to lose it Is there a way to space out the figures already completed to populate the diorama and still tell the story?

I'm now having to use 5X magnifiers for models which give a limited depth of field but work reasonably well and are cheap.

Very best of luck. This has been a firm favourite to watch.
