Very Very nice Sjors!

So you think its easier to do the stays before the shrouds? I may try that when it comes time to (finally) rig my Enterprise.

Sam

Definitely! Think about tying knots and rigging lines on the stays with the shrouds on. They will definitely get in the way. In my opinion, shrouds are the last step in the standing rigging phase.

Edit: What I meant is the tying of the shrouds to the deadeyes. Shrouds have to be mounted on the mast first. Then let them hang until the rest of the standing riging is complete, and lastly, tie deadeyes and lanyards.

There aren't but two options: do it FAST, or do it RIGHT.

Current Project Build Log: Soleil Royal in 1/72. Kit by Artesania Latina.

Last finished projectsRoyal Ship Vasa 1628; French Vessel Royal Louis 1780. 1/90 Scale by Mamoli. 120 Cannons

Future projects already in my stash: Panart: San Felipe 1/75; OcCre: Santísima Trinidad 1/90;

Wish List: 1/64 Amati Victory, HMS Enterprise in 1/48 by CAF models.

So much to build, so little time!

Thanks Doris and Vivian,

@ Doris,

I'm still doing my best .

It's not that perfect as your models but I'm happy with it !

She is now on hold for the moment because I'm gluing copperplates on the Agamemnon.

And relaxation at work is so true at the moment.

No kids because they have holiday, not much traffic, just relax driving....

@ Vivian,

I'm not that busy......

2 builds at the same time is just nice.

When something is not working at the moment on one model. I can switch to the other one !

It only take twice more time to finish them  :D  :D

Sjors!   Fantastic - love those pics, nice and clean and tight. Something I am still striving for with mine (which is why I don't dare close ups on mine quite yet.  I am still at the 3 foot rule - Looks great from 3 feet away!! =) ).    Yours though, inches looks fantastic.

I have a question.....

I'm starting to make the yards but I wanted furled sails.

Now I know that someone has done that and make a little tutorial.

But I don't know who !

I have take a look at the topic rigging but what I'm talking about is not there.

Does someone know where I can found it ?

Me too Jan, me too ....... :P

I have shape the jib boom and gaff today.

That's it !

For the rest i was looking at the drawings to see what i have to do with the yards.

I wish i din't !

Because there is no manual, only pictures

But....I did the whole model without manual so why not the yards ????

It only takes time and that's something that we have enough, isn't it ?

I don't have to finished tomorrow ....I hope !!!!

Thanks John and Edwin,

@ John,

It is a change from coppering to rigging.

But can I go back to the deck planking ???? :D  :D

No, it has to be done.....

@ Edwin,

Are you sure that you are at the right build log /

It is me who is building her.....

And I'm not a masterly talent......

I'm just doing things and it is still right....

Update time !

Am I on the right log ???? yep !

The first two sail's are on it  :D  :D

The Mizzen royal sail and the Mizzen topgallant sail.

Attention please.....only the sails !

Not the rigging of that...

I know I should do furled sails but I found out that I have a few more sails then I thought.

There are also stay sails ( never knew that that exist )

So, the Fonz gonna have full sails !

Also the spanker boom and gaff are done.

That one gonna have the sails ( I hope ) this weekend otherwise next week.

Picture below all this nonsens...

Then ( yes there he is again ) question.

On the mizzen mast there is no Mizzen topsail.

There is the yard and that's it !

Does anyone knows why ????????
