Starting Cutty Sark , this will be the first build I keep track of all hours spent on the bench. People always ask me "How long did it take you to build?" Well now I will know.

Started on the bulk heads and positioning the decks.

sometimes it can be a shock to see how long a build has actually taken (16 years for my billings cutty sark!!!!!) She is a beautiful ship though.

Absolutely the San Felipe took me 11 years of on and off building. But it would will be interesting to see just how much actual time do I spend just building.

The Cutty Sark has been high on my list for awhile now. It will probably be my next build so I’ll pay close attention to your build. Judging from your other work I’m sure it will be a beautiful model ship!

 

Tracking your time sounds like an interesting project, I kind of wish I did it with my Flying Fish.

I'm spending about 6 hours a day on it, FUN!

Before I planked the hull I tree nailed the decks.

I put a sealer on the hull. I'm going to copper the hull so I need a non porous surface to apply it to.

Completed the deck furniture.

Painted the hull flat black and set the top and side rails.

Set pedestals and attached to stand. Decided to use three pedestal because of the length of the hull.

Wow!  This build is excellent.  I feel like I'm watching a master class in ship building and the speed at which you are constructing this ship is simply amazing.
