Ron @hollowneck has put together a very comprehensive guide to using MSW. It also includes how to register, so will also help those of you who are only seeing this as a visitor, and wish to join our community.

James I have been a member for over 5 years but seem to have to sign in each time I enter the web site inspite of clicking the "Remeber Me" selection. This is new after I returned from a trip last week where I used my laptop rather than my desktop which is the most frequently used device.

Hi Joe,

This is at your end. Shut down MSW, clear cache and cookies and then come back to MSW and login again. See how that goes.

Hmmm! Tried this 2X and it did not work. Any other suggestions. Could it be it still recognizes my laptop id?

Have you tried another browser etc?

 

The only solution I have to this sort of problem is to clear cache and cookies and try a different browser to see if can work. It's very difficult to provide solutions to IT when it's not at our side.

Are you using two different logo IDs on your laptop and computer?  Should have just one ID and password regardless of device.

Well, it appears that while I was away and using my laptop I used another browser. That browser automatically admits me. I tried clearing its cache, cookies and site preferences to no avail as Google Search still requires me to log in. I will continue to work it.

Clear all the browsers.  Also, check the "history" on each one and remove MSW from there.  Each browser is different so you'll need to "settings" on each one.   Chrome does has "reset" which seems to do the same thing.

Wonder of all wonders. Using the Google Reset function worked this AM. Resetting each element, cache, cookies, history independently did not do it. Thank you Mark!

I have mistakenly put my HMS Sphinx build log in the wrong time period.  How does one move the log from one period to another?

New to the forum.

I read through the guide and was wondering about something I saw on posts.

At the bottom of many posts, there is a : "On the bench" "Finished" designation. Is this something that populates when I add my projects to the completed or Build Logs boards? or do I have to add that to my profile somewhere.

Hello,  @atomj123 This is something you have to edit in your profile. Go to your account settings,  there look for " signature " add what you like, I think it supposed to be only 4  lines but they let you get away with a few more.

  Hope you find it ok

I was struggling with this the other day. I edited my profile over and over and my signature never changed. It turned out that editing the profile only changes your profile page, which people have to deliberately go look at.

 

To change my signature, I had to click my name at the top, select "Account Settings", and on the next page, at the bottom of the menu at the left, "Signature".

Yes, and make sure you press " save" lol

I believe you have to have a minimum number of posts (not sure on the number) before you are allowed to add a signature. Before you reach that number, the option will not even appear in your profile to edit.
