jcurtis55 Posted December 6 #1 Posted December 6 (edited) I have decided to give this hobby a try. A long time ago I built plastic models and free flight airplanes. I'm currently an avid model rocket builder. I started getting Facebook messages showing some great wooden ships. I'm tryiing to be realistic and have ordered the Model Shipways Grand Bank Dory. Their three kit Shipwright line seems like a logical way to ease into the hobby. I'm still awaiting delivery of the kit, but I've already read through the directions online. They will likely make more sense once I have the parts in hand. I'm enjoying reading many of the build threads here and have already picked up some tips. I have a lot of terminology to learn though. I'm excited to find this forum. We have a similar one for model rockets where people are great at providing advice. Anyway, I'm sure I will have some questions once I get started on the dory. Are there clubs where you can meet with kindred spitis?
