Giampiero,

Beautiful joinery on the bow, stern, and frames.  I'm going to follow along on your build and try to learn.

Thank you!!!.......

In order to block the stern oar in a more stable manner, on the excesses of the oarlocks I have tentatively set a provisional "crowning glory"  that I will take away when I have completed the transom

Is that ebony or dyed wood, Giampiero.   Very impressive work.

I thought maybe it would be appropriate to bolt the course of filling at least now that there is still no upper boundary for more space and avoid any awkward shot could damage the belts themselves.
This is the job I started.
I used the brass tacks of a diameter of 0.7 mm which I cut his head off and filed flush with the stem of the course.

Hi Giam.

Can you tell me how you managed to bend the ebony without it splitting/breaking please?

Do you soak it, heat it?

I have tried in the past and just ended up with a lot of scrap wood, a bad temper and then ending up staining some wood to simulate ebony!

Not the result I wanted.

Kind regards,

Ron.

thank you friends!

I managed to bend the ebony with the flame of a candle, and then I put in a suitable form.
however, they are strips of 2mm that I bent just enough to paste them on the model. The curvature of this model is not excessive.

My ship is about a meter long......

Ah, I see what you mean and thank you for the quick reply Giam.

(Or at least I think I understand: Do you "oscilate"" the wood over the flame of the candle while holding between thumbs and fingers and gently bending said wood over the heat)?

And can I call you Giam??

Ron.
