Hi Dimitris; it is called a seizing, personally I like the contrasting colour, it makes it stand out more. If it is historically correct or not I could not say for sure, what I can say, is that it is your boat so do what pleases you.

Thank you Don for telling me the term...(I read it somewhere , but my brain stopped..lol). Thank you and for your kind comments as well!! :) :)

Cheers

Dimitris

Hi Dimitris

Really nice work!  Just wondering what sort of display case you've got lined up for your AV...I'd imagine it'd have to be a big one!

Cheers

Patrick

Hi Patrick, thank you for your time to comment , for your kind words and likes... :) Regarding the display case, i don't know yet...i am looking around the net. Also there is a store here in Athens who construct display cases for modellers. Will see..

Cheers

Dimitris.

Good evening, I put the 1st net on the bowsprit but i think i did a mistake that i painted white ..... seems fake ... Now either i will order another net and rebuild it, or i will try with caution to paint it grey... Although I have second thoughts  that the rope binder around the net should be more fine !!! Any help or suggestions are always  welcome. :) :)

Kind regards

Dimitris

Hi Dimitri

Your Amerigo Vespucci looks amazing, you are doing a great job.

Regarding the net colour, I am sending you attached a couple of A.V. pictures I found on internet

On the first picture the net seems to be beige, but on the other one it looks more white. I think it is just the natural rope colour,

The more important is that you like the result, it is your model :)

Have fun

G'day Dimitris

Marc has answered the question for me. Age will make the rope the colour that is natural,  so don't do a thing! It's perfect just the way it is!

Hello shipmates, Marc - Greg - Jeff , I do thank you for your help and your suggestions... I was not quiet happy with the result, so, i took it of and i bought some new netting and installed it. I also used more fine rope to bind the net on the bowsprit.  The result, for me at least, is better.... :D :D

Slog-Nigel-Boyd - Patrick  thank you for pushing the L button... :) :)

The first photo shows the netting yesterday, the others the new one...

Kind regards

Sweet work Dimitris...the pattern made by those bowsprit nets looks really cool!

Give your eyes a rest and perhaps enjoy an ouzo...I think you've earned it.  :)

G'day Dimitris

What a fine ship you have! Now I know you secret, you've got a lovely assistant working with you.

You should be proud of both of them!
