  2. hi, i have a question to other victory modelers. how much of the middle gun deck is visible once the upper gun deck and quarter deck are in place? i am asking because i am planking the middle gun deck and i noticed in the aos victory that within the planked area there deck is furniture - hatches, a capsan, etc. - and i am wondering if i should add that to the model even though caldercraft does not. thanks, mort
  3. thank you robert . i have been following your build since day 1. it's been a great resource. did more fairing and started planking the middle gun deck, - 5 butt method- am using maple planks as i did on the diana i prefer maple the caldercraft supplied tanganika. will post pictures as soon as i can. if any one wants to see progress feel free to send me a pm with your email and i will be happy to oblige. hopefully my son or my brother in law can show me the way. mort

  5. hi guys and gals, after many many to many years of following i have decided to post a build log. i bought this kit in 2006 along with the snake and diana. i finished the diana last fall and started the victory in march after completing the duke william. to date i have lower gundeck, dummy barrel strips, stem, keelson and frames attached to the keel. i am working on beveling bow and stern frames. as soon as i figure out how to post some pictures i will and once i do please feel free to comment on any and everything you wish. thanks, mort

  12. hi paul, i have a question if you can recall. on 3/23/16 post #2 are parts # 105 and 106 the stern inner and outer extensions even with the ends of the gunport patterns #270 etc? they appear to be and I would think they would be. thanks, mort
  13. hi paul, just discovered your build log - very impressed - and having just completed the diana am about to start on the caldercraft victory. question about the stern fascia. you built the entire piece on your work table and then glued it onto the stern? thanks, mort
  14. hi, when I built my snake - about 4 1/2 years ago i moistened the middle of the deck and gently and carefully with the aid of my plank bender was able to fold the false deck and slip into place. others have cut the deck in half and glued in both halves. hope this helps, mort
