    Hi Sal, yes it has been a while. Sorry to hear you weren't well but glad to hear you have recovered. Congrats to your daughter on her graduation. We both had a milestone to celebrate, my youngest daughter received her Doctorate in Education (EdD) this past April. Point of interest on your Steamboats research - the Great Lakes steamboat SS Columbia is headed our way for restoration at the Hudson River Maritime Museum (https://hudsonvalleyone.com/2017/04/30/s-s-columbia-projects-steamy-dreams/ ) and Columbia Project . I'll let you know when she arrives.

    Trying to decide. Choices are AL Constellation, MS Picketboat or maybe go real crazy and scratch build an ice yacht. Haven't decided but summer projects are distracting me at the moment plus I need to rearrange the basement workspace first.

    Thank you, Lawrence for the birthday wishes and your very kind compliments on the skipjack build. I have been following your own build (silently), enjoying your work and commentary. I try to click the Like button to let you know I've been "lurking" in the background. Yes I do understand the distractions getting in the way of browsing MSW, I have trouble keeping up myself. Again thanks for looking in and your very kind words.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
