  1. I have also created other crew members - a midshipman and one of the officers:
  2. Hello dear friends, I am touched by your comments, your words and praise mean a lot for me. Thank you very much for your support and comments. That is a great honour for me and also a commitment to make things as best as possible to be worthy of your words. On Royal Caroline I finished a small staircase and railing in front of the main cabin: And there are also prepared all flags printed in a laser printer on the thin cloth - batiste (I have no such printer at home, but one of my friends helped me with printing). The biggest flag is already placed on the flagpole:
  3. Dear Robert, Your work is absolutely amazing and unique. Something like this is very rare. Thank you very much for sharing, and accept my deepest admiration to your masterpiece. Kind regards Doris
  4. Dear friends, thank you very much for your compliments and kind words, I appreciate them a lot. Today I took a video to show you the tutorial, how I make the belaying pins. All is handmade, cause I have not any special tools. The pins are solid enough, even if they are made of two parts. And what's new on RC..... I have finished spiral staircase - it is made of paper and covered with foils to imitate wooden look. Kind regards Doris
  5. Beautiful work Vivian, You are a very skilfull young lady. Great looking model and a very nice job on rigging. I alway admire people, who can create ship models from wood. Thank you for the inspiration. Best regards and a lot of fun during the build Doris
  6. What a beauty, Danny! Excellent and professional work and sense for detail. I really enjoyed the pics. My admiration to your precision and high level of realism. Kind regards Doris

  8. Hello dear friends, I am pleased, you like my work. Thank you a lot, your words are much appreciated. Another part of Royal Caroline is completed, I have also improved some details at down part of the columns - they are shorter and have better shape. During next weeks I am going to make guns and other crew members. Best regards and enjoy the pics Doris
  9. Current part of build Enjoy the pics and have a great time. Best regards Doris
  10. Other pics: I also finished some blocks (they are made of wood on CNC lathe) and placed them on decks according to plans. In the past I made paper blocks but there were problems with rigging tension - some blocks did not hold this tension and became distorted.
  11. Hello dear friends, Thank you very much for your kind words, your feedback and praise is a great honour for me! I appreciate your support a lot. Well, nobody is perfect, I have also various mistakes on my models, but the main thing is, that I love this hobby a lot and enjoy making models. And of course I feel happy sharing this pleasure with you all. Some details on RC were improved - for example gratings - there was a mistake with correct orientation, so I modified the gratings using strips of foil imitating wood. And another change - had to shift the upper part of rudder and its wooden pole forward (about 7mm) to place there an iron ring for a tackle. The rudder is still fully functional. Improved gratings
  12. Hello dear Sherry, Your model looks incredible, I admire the high level of quality of your work and wonderfully created details. It is a very nice inspiration. San Felipe is really difficult model to build of wood. I like it very much. I am looking forward to continuing of your masterpiece. I wish you a great pleasure during the build and a lot of fun. Best regards, Doris

  15. Hello dear friends and thank you warmly for your kind words and recognition, I am extremely honored!! Well, I must say that I was so much nervous during filming the reportage. My students helped me a lot, I like them very much. We are friends. I'm glad that was paid attention on TV to this beautiful hobby that connects us all together. On Royal Caroline I have improved and added another details. Please, enjoy the pics and have a great time. Best regards, Doris
  16. Today I have got a surprise for you, there was another report on TV about my hobby and work ( i am a teacher at secondary school), so you can watch it here at this link: http://www.ceskatelevize.cz/ivysilani/10122978233-udalosti-v-regionech-ostrava/414231100030117-udalosti-v-regionech/obsah/303453-modelarka-stavi-plachetnici-z-18-stoleti-i-s-posadkou/ Please, enjoy it and have a great time.
  17. Hello dear friends, I appreciate your support and kind words a lot, thank you for your feedback and good advise. Well, I have changed the long wooden pole connected to the rudder - now it is in a right position ( I hope ) and also improved the helmsman's dress a little bit. The hat could be also good touch, but I would like to let helmsman´s head without changes ( I made him according to my friend from Czech forum and I want to preserve resemblance of his face and hair). Maybe I will make a hat and place it into his hand. You are right that people on royal yacht wore their best uniforms, unfortunately I have only few pictures from museums that can help me to imagine, how to create dresses for some crew members. Please, if you have some pics, I will be very grateful for them. I use medium dense cyanoacrylate adhesive, but it is important to apply accurately and in a small amount. Here you can see, how I glue together clear parts using this adhesive: And here are new pics of the model: Kind regards, Doris
  18. Thank you for your comments dear friends! Well, I like making sculptures of animals, so i decided to put some next to the name plate. I tried to create something new, what i have never seen on any model. I also know Tarjack masterpiece and first I was very surprised to see, that his ship is made of bone. Looks incredible! You are right, thank you for your advice. The wooden pole is in bad position, i looked again into plans and will try to repair it. The clothes were made according paintings of sailors from 18th century, but i was not sure, if I chose right. http://www.victorianpicturelibrary.com/sailors-18th-century
