Hello dear Slog, this is a breathtaking work, the etched parts will raise the model on highest level. I also built this card GPM Bismarck but i used only few etched parts and that is a pitty. Looking forward to continuing of your outstanding work. Best regards Doris

Hello Albert and thank you very much for your compliment, I am pleased. Yesterday I completed remaining cannons. The ropes have a strong impregnation - I use for this a glue (thinned by water). This will allow to change the shape of ropes (after gentle re-soaking) and after drying the shape is already fixed. I am going to create other crew members who will perform some action with a cannon.... Best regards Doris- 883 replies

Dear Michael, Thank you very much for your kind words, I appreciate them a lot. And also thanks for possibility to learn new English words; I would like to improve my language skills. I feel good when I am able to understand foreign language. In our country we say - how many languages you know, so many times you are a human. All cannons are ready to place on deck, now I am working on the tackle. Enjoy the pics. Kind regards Doris- 883 replies

Hello dear friends, Your compliments are a great honour for me and are much appreciated. Thank you very much for your support. Well, I still find new ways and try to improve my work to get better results. I make models mainly for a joy and pleasure. Another supplement to the flags printing (because more people asked me questions): I could not watch my friend during printing the flags, he lives in the other side of your country and sent me printed flags by mail. He told that it is necessary to print each side of the flag 2-3 times in the laser printer to achieve higher quality of colours. I suppose the batiste keeps on the sheet of paper with self adhesive tape during printing. And of course you must print each time exactly to the same place - both sides, to achieve perfectly overlap. And also there are finished all guns/barrels - made of paper, wood and clay. Here you can see pics from the process step by step. I followed this photo of real English cannons from 18th century: How I made them?- 883 replies

Dear friends, thank you very much for your comments and kind words, I am pleased reading your posts. Well, I tried various possibilities, but I have my favourite technology, how to make the guns from paper, I will show it here. Maybe it will be useful for somebody. I have finished other carriages, fortunately there are only eight pieces... :- 883 replies

Yesterday I have started with guns and I tried to make the first carriage using wood and card. The barrel is casted from metal but I am thinking about making my own from card. Best regards Doris- 883 replies

Well, some information were already written here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/854-royal-caroline-by-doris-card-1749-140/?p=162240 The flags are printed in a laser printer on the thin cloth - batiste - I do not know, if you use this name in English - this cloth is 100% cotton and it is very thin. It is possible to purchase it here: http://www.radekshipmodels.cz/en/list-of-kits-and-accessories/accessories---sails_-flag_-cloth-for-sails I prepared the patterns of flags and because I have no laser printer at home, I asked for help my friend and he printed the flags for me. It is also possible to order accurate flags for your models in the link above. I improved the flags using Tamiya spray - semi gloss clear TS-79 and bright red TS-49 to highlight red colour and impregnate the cloth. During drying I shaped the flag into its current form.- 883 replies

Hello dear friends! Thank you very much for all your posts, comments and praise. I appreciate your support a lot and i am pleased! Dear Sjors, What can I say? I feel honoured reading your words, they mean a lot for me. I suppose, we would teach each other, cause I would like to learn how to work with wood and build such beautiful wooden models as yours and other people here. I admire your work a lot.- 883 replies

dgbot: Thank you for your kind words, dear David, I am really very honoured reading your post. Nigel: I am not sure, but maybe you mean this place: I've made the necessary adjustment on the bow - there was added another bulkhead under the foredeck ( it is not drawn in plans and other parts also have been changed and modified) to achieve better durability and solidity of the hull - the model is mainly made of card and needs larger reinforcement. Did you mean this? Kind regards Doris- 883 replies

Thank you very much for your kind words and comments, dear friends, I appreciate them a lot. Well, I know about some mistakes in the book but please could you explain to me or show a pics (it is better for me to see the mistake and the way how to correct it), what you mean? I am afraid, I cannot understand well, my English is not very good. Best regards, Doris- 883 replies

All ropes for Royal Caroline will be handmade on rope-walk machine, some ropes are already prepared and I have decided to remake the anchor rope to achieve more realistic result: The auxiliary rope is not finished yet, it will be added the loops to manipulate the anchor rope.- 883 replies
