Unfortunately, my Flirt and my Pen Duick have been lying idle for a very long time. I'm not sure when I'll get back to working on either of them again but they are both beautiful models and deserve to be completed.
It looks like you have started the Cheerful. I'm looking forward to following along as you build her. Good luck!

There's not much more praise that I can add that others haven't already said. I'll just say..WOW...what a beautifully detailed diorama and a wonderful build log to boot. Congratulations, Grant!

Wonderful job planking the deck and especially cutting the joggles! You did a much better job than I did.

Because of some early fairing errors, the port and starboard bow shape is not symmetrical, which has really complicated everything. I’ve tried to compensate, but getting the shapes right is probably the most difficult modeling challenge I’ve ever experienced.
She looking great, Don, and you're the only one who will notice a slight lack of symmetry. Everyone else that sees her will simply be gobsmacked that you could build such an impressive model.
Fairing the hull is, at least for me, one of the most challenging steps in model ship building and I've yet to do it well no matter how slowly I go while eyeing it from different angles and constantly checking with a batten. I admire those folks who complete this task with confidence and accuracy.

It's really great to see you making this model, Chuck. I love these small, working boats and this is a very interesting one. I think it would be a wonderful addition to your line of models and I hope it will become one of your one regular offerings in the near future.

I was so inspired from watching Grant build his beautiful Alfa Romeo that I found a good deal on one and bought it but, alas, it still sits temptingly on a shelf in the den. I look forward to following your build now too. Good luck!

Hi Bob,
I need you to rig yours so that I'll know how to rig mine! 😄
Oh no! Just when I was just thinking that I should wait around and see how you go about rigging yours first! 😂

It great to see another Pen Duick being built. She's such a beautiful and historic sailing vessel. Unfortunately, my model has been sitting idle in my dry dock for a very long time. I'm looking forward to following along on your build and, hopefully, I'll gain some inspiration and motivation to get back to work and finish mine. She's much too beautiful to be left unfinished. Good luck!

As a Coast Guard veteran, I remember these 82 footers very well. It's great to see you developing this model especially since Coast Guard models are few and far between.

So sorry to hear about the sudden passing of your mother, George. Losing your mom is always tough. My mother lived until she was 98 but she slipped into dementia and a long, slow decline during her final years and that was very hard to see. My condolences to you and your family.

I am firmly onboard for this build, Grant. I too have fancied a steam powered model and have looked carefully at the Alexandria by Krick models. However, I know I would be in way over my head trying to build a steam powered RC model. I'll be following along intently as you work your way through this one.
Good luck, Grant. I'm sure you'll build another showpiece to add to your ever expanding, eclectic assortment of models!
