  1. A wonderful model and another equally wonderful build log to go with it! Congratulations!
  2. Okay, wheels weren't actually next! The instructions called for mating the wing and fuselage, followed by adding the wing fillets. Here's the left side done, with the parts for the right side for comparison.
  3. The right wing is now skinned. I will not be showing any close-ups of the finished wing tip -- if there is a pro technique for doing those neatly, I have yet to discover what it is!
  4. I have moved this log into the proper forum section.
  5. You were making great progress on this! Dis you get it wrapped up?
  6. Hey, did you wrap this build up? It was looking so nice and so close to being finished.
  7. I just noticed there is a typo on MS' box label. 1/8" = 1' is 1/96 scale, not 1/64. I fixed the title for you.
  8. Yes, thank you for mentioning this! More exactly, every build log should have the member's exact username in the title. But some of our members are more "free-spirited" than others. 😉 Our build logs are currently getting some long-overdue attention to their formatting and tagging issues. There are thousands of them to check, so the task will take a while to complete.
  9. Our galleries are for finished ship models only!
  10. There is another option for the deck, depending on how much effort you want to put into it. Decks on real ships are nearly always light colored, thanks to being bleached out by so much sun. Many modelers like to use holly for decking. It can be purchased from wood suppliers in quite thin and/or narrow strips. You could easily lay down a new deck atop the old, if you wanted.
  11. I got the missing gear bay pieces in. It was exactly as much fun as I thought it would be, i.e., none. 😑 I also got the wing skins cut out, edge colored, and shaped. Here they are for a preliminary fit. They will need landing lights installed before being glued on. Strangely, the diagrams also show inner sheaths labeled as part S -- the main spar is even recessed to accommodate the extra layer of paper. But there are no parts S in either the kit or mentioned in the instructions. I will probably go ahead and add something like them anyway to increase the gluing area.
