  1. Thank you for the tip, I go there a lot and never notice them, but I also wasn't looking either. Guess it is old age. LOL
  2. Andy, With me you don't need to worry about that. I am old and that is that LOL. But Thank you.
  3. I would like to also do in 1/24, maybe after I get the house. Now that is about at least a half year down the road but I will be getting one. But then is it going to be too big to get out of the cellar. Me I like 1/48 scale, but at times 1/64 is a nice size. Like we both said, it is what you have to work with and what you want.
  4. Yes, now I remember it was this ship. Like I said before she is Beautiful. So you still haven't had any luck finding out who built her, thats a shame since he or she did a wonderful job. Keep us posted if you find out who it was.
  5. Now that is Beautiful. Did you build that, I seem to recall something about this as to it being bought from someone, not sure if this is the ship I am thinking of but dam that is Beautiful As far as a stupid question, it would be stupid if you didn't ask and then never found out the answer, I am sure someone here will have the answer for you.
  6. I agree with what Mark said. It is up to you. Do you have the room, do you want a lot of detail. It does all come down to you and what you can work with. The show NCIS in the beginning you see him working on a boat in his cellar, now the boat is big, the question is how did he get it out. You can do in the scale of 1/24 but then you have to get it out of your workshop and do you have the room to make it? There is a heck of a lot of this and then in this question. And something like what Mark said but instead of how long is a piece of string use the one "Is the glass half empty or half full". Just my 2 cents. But to me bigger is better.
  7. I also have the thickness sander by Jim, and I love it. I also have an old thickness sander by Roybe which has the convator ( spell check doesn't want to hear it on that word LOL ) belt, now that is nice the machine does all the work. But the dam thing is big and heavy and makes a heck of a lot of dust, but for milling wood it works perfect. I got a Harbor Freight disk and belt sander. Still wish I had gotten the Table Saw by Jim. But there is always another day and yes I do love my toys.
  8. Jack had a lot of good walk trues but most all of that stuff got lost in the great crash.
  9. That is the one thing I wish I did also, but like tony I got the Proxxon, which isn't bad but a saw by Jim now that is a saw.
  10. Not to get down on Micro Mark, but everything Jim sells is better. But like I said that is my option and not getting down on Micro Mark (but dam the price and then the shipping).
  11. Have you look in the MSW database for help. There is a section on reading plans and how to loft. I would check it out, you might find a lot of help on what your looking ofr.
  12. I have to say it. Very Beautiful work your doing. Keep the pictures coming.
  13. I really enjoy the step by step you provided. Keep the pictures coming. There are a lot of us watching this build.
  14. Yon, Excellent work on everything you have done, your detail work is Beautiful. Keep the pictures coming, I am always watching.
  15. I never bought any blades from them, I had first got mine from Proxxon and then got them from Jim. But mostly stay with the 10mm, sometimes I just want to have an item just in case I need it. But I did buy most of my add ons from Micro Mark only because they had them and no one else, they are usually more money than other places, but if no one else has it usually they do. And also they are not that far from me so I usually get it in a few days. See if there is a shop near you that could turn one for you, you might be able to speak with a worker at lunch time and ask him if he could do you a favor and a lot of times for a few dollars they can make something that size out of scrap metal for you. It's worth a shot, hell money is money. I got a link save somewhere for a place that does a lot of add-ons for the Proxxon, if I can find it I will post it for you, but then again you will be back in the same boat because they are in the US. Sometimes if it wasn't for bad luck a person wouldn't have luck at all. Maybe someone her in the UK could make you one and then mail it to you and it would be cheaper then from the US.
  16. Toni, Now that is beautiful. I must have sat and look at that picture for about 6 minutes or more. Very nice display for your work.
  17. Tony, You do know that Proxxon and Micro-Mark are the same machines, different color. But both made in China, just one is better than the other. If you look on Micro-Mark web site, you will notice other power tools that are the same as Proxxon, in fact a couple are the same color more money but the same LOL. Also check on Amazon for what your looking for even a Google search might find you what your after.
  18. Thank you Tony, it is a old nickname from my past, still comes back and bugs me at times, but that is life LOL. And no offense was taken LOL.
  19. Tony, You brought up a good question, because of where you are location. We in the US at times have the same problem, we see something in the UK but because of the shipping it isn't really worth it. The only answer I can think of is maybe someone can get it here and ship it to you, but then what would the shipping be? Micro-Mark sells stuff that is hard to find but the shipping is what kills you. Is there a machine shop in the UK that could maybe make it for you, or do you know someone with a metal lathe that could do it for you. Maybe someone here can come up with a better answer than I just gave you. The shipping is what kills everyone in this hobby, that is why after awhile people buy a milling machine and lathe or one or the other and then you be surprise at all the things you can make yourself. I have the same table saw a you but I bought the item that you are talking about way before I got my machines. Hope someone can come up with a better answer for your question.
  20. I am watching this Post to see what all the different methods are that people use to fair the inside of a POF.
