Hi I was going to say the same myself. Also the life boat is the same. Another build has done the same thing that I pointed out to him. Denis.

Hi Nice build, but it seems to me that you have got the rudder hinges the wrong way round. The top hinge should have the hole on it, and the stem part that goes into the hole should be at the bottom. Hope you don't mind me pointing this out to you. Denis.

Hi John The canoes are all carved and the eyes on the bow had a shell in them. I have not seen a Waka canoe that was painted if they had paint on them it was very little. They was made out of some sort of hard wood, The black, red and white is the Maori flag. Denis.

What grit for disc sander?
DenPink replied to clifforddward's topic in Modeling tools and Workshop Equipment
Hi Cliff I use 180 and 320 for finishing.. You may find it hard to get them off, so I use a small brush with acetone and pull the disc as you apply the acetone to the back of the disc. Denis. -

Hi fellow model builders You may be wondering why I have not updated my logs. Well shortly after moving into a new house I was taken ill, well ill is not the correct word to use. I should say my health went down hill very fast. I was rushed to hospital and had a catheter inserted, now find it hard to walk and lift things. To keep this short my liver and kidneys are in a very bad way. The hospital is waiting to see if my kidneys improve before they do an operation. At this stage it looks like they will not do the operation. What happens next, well I don't know. Life goes on. Denis.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
