  1. Not as challenging as yours, this one is at 1:72. PE and some plastic ... I think I'll keep my eyes open for the one you're building a wee bit over 3"
  2. It is in the eye of the artist how he/she shows the subject on canvas. It doesn't matter if a bear looks like a cat, as long as it's what you meant to paint. Look at bauhaus, cubism, and all the other art movements, but for photographic realism ...
  3. Pls do, I love that tri plane. made one from Edward in plastic and brass (1:72) and have a few boxes (plastic) stached to try out the different painting. I still would like to make a larger one from wood or something a like.
  4. HMS Hood: A step by step guide ... Looking good dispite the oeps at the bow, if you hadn't told me I wouldn't have noticed.
  5. When you buy from ebay, you even have to watch out it doesn't come from somewhere outside the EU, although, after brexit, you will be paying import duties for nearly every thing!!!
  6. Russ, I'm not writing about the intermittent stages, but the completed models Cheers
  7. Alan, You are confusing me: "Many images of the "stick" show it with a head, whereas others do not. " Masts are often refered to as "sticks" and masts too have a head ... for those wanting to throw a more or less pointed stick, here is some further reading. Maybe it was a javelin all the time, but only at the end a very blunt one
  8. Russ, Do you really think you can improve on those outstanding builds of yours!?!?!? Cheers
  9. Wouldn't you get the stepping issue at an angle ... trading straight for slanted lines/ripples ... Cheers
  10. "There is no real progress to report except that the new camera seems to be working nicely" ... at least we get better pictures we are talking detail!
  11. Nice study, what do you use for transparency, Nenad?
  12. Can hardly see her against that "rocky backdrop" She does look stunning already. Great work on the shading ... very, very nice
  13. Red/vermillion is a nasty colour to cover with a lighter one. Usually best to sand it of as much as possible and than cover with the lighter shade. Another option, prime it first with a light primer. Great details. You do get a lot of etail with the 3D printing, won't you be afraid it will stand out of the rest because of such very crisp details?
  14. Retirement ...? You just entered the most busy time of your life, at least, that is what all the retirees make me believe!!! Enjoy and make the most of it.
  15. nearly missed the start ... NICE! Another build to enjoy. This paper modelling is pritty dark, it does miss the priming, and painting, but the PE is just as horrendous as on plastic!!
