Than I'll charge you for ... hmmm ... $ 1.000.000.000 Nice work Mark. It certainly is a tedious part of the build, but wait for those 2mm blocks to be rigged ... you might reconsider ...

It sounds like you have been looking at an other diorama here at MSW! It sounds interesting, I do wish you luck, although I think you hardly need it with your prowess'

putty,, modeller's putty ... Tamiya or Milliput. I've seen someone making sandbags with the latter, and rather convincing - it's a two component type, Tamiya has an epoxy putty which might do the trick ... I've done some work with the other, the black type when you put it on the barrel you can shape it in the image of the original blast bag ... you can try it out on a plastic spruce from your build ...

Not as challenging as yours, this one is at 1:72. PE and some plastic ... I think I'll keep my eyes open for the one you're building a wee bit over 3" -

Gotcha build! This one I will thoroughly enjoy -
It is in the eye of the artist how he/she shows the subject on canvas. It doesn't matter if a bear looks like a cat, as long as it's what you meant to paint. Look at bauhaus, cubism, and all the other art movements, but for photographic realism ...

Alan, You are confusing me: "Many images of the "stick" show it with a head, whereas others do not. " Masts are often refered to as "sticks" and masts too have a head ... for those wanting to throw a more or less pointed stick, here is some further reading. Maybe it was a javelin all the time, but only at the end a very blunt one

Russ, Do you really think you can improve on those outstanding builds of yours!?!?!? Cheers

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
