  1. You can dip the white thread in tea and have a nice colour ... at least, if it isn't polyester
  2. I stand corrected ... next build you'll know ...
  3. (propeller: I know the parts are laying on my bench ... waiting, like you. to busy with intruding life and work) Looks good Mark MIKE. Usually they use a light colour on the lanyards, maybe not on this type of vessel. You start at the top deadeye, and end at the top as well, so you can fasten it to the riging above the deadeye
  4. only 500m! I read the scale as 1200 Besides that, I always mess up those scale calculations ... that's why I shouldn't scratch build, I would make a Titanic triple it's real size!!!
  5. they act like a keel. are lowered on the lee side as that side is lower and will have a better hold on the leeboard, more effective
  6. When I see how you tackled all the other "misfits" and improvements you made I can't see how this little piece of red deck will give you a problem. Lovely work on the anchors and flag poles. A mere 2.5 m railing, how long would it have been in reality ... something like 3 km? stroll in the park for you
  7. Nice details on the gun, interesting info on it too. Thanks for the cleaning picture. Beats the one where there is one holding the swab, another spraying the water and four moving the ship It looks a bit like a road working crew, a few do the hard labour whilst the remainder is looking how they do it ...
  8. "A real thing of beauty", Pat. The stark contrast between the weathered copper and the black ... lovely. You do her proud!!! Is that a nail in the figurehead? Temporary? Or a staff?
  9. Hull looks good, Kees. Interesting box on the left, built or to be built? Your visor looks a lot like mine ... HBM?
  10. Not so rickety serving machine, looks rather sturdy. The shrouds look good and the deadeye spacing spot on. Nothing to worry about! Cheers
  11. It is good to know, you haven't forgotten how to use the holystone, and make slush. Your cranes look impressive ... in all you are doing a smashing job
  12. Quite the battleship Dan. She looks real good. 1.5 Kg for a paper model, that brass must weigh her down a lot ...
  13. Hmmm, another challenge, you don't like the easy stuff now, do you!
  14. Marvelous result on the body. She looks very spiffy. As Gregory wrote,: A nice balance between paint and wood. Now for the "sticks" ...
  15. Very, very, very nice Scott. That is a lovely mast, and I cant see the CA, so what are you moaning about !?
  16. I use a tile glossy. CA doesn't stick to the glaze. "BTW - I use the half-eyed needle trick almost exclusively for applying CA. When the needle eventually gets clogged I drop it inot a jar of Acetone for a couple of minutes to clean it." Dan a lighter cleans is off rather nicely too and a lot quicker
  17. "Just when I think I will get alot of progress done I get called into work! " Nothing changes, doesn't it ... Still, nice work on the mast
  18. Sit back and relax, Nenad. You can't force it anyway. Have a speedy recovery
  19. You need a small white dog to build ship models !?!?!?!? Now I know why I suck at it
  20. Certainly worth the wait Mihai. She looks stunning, a real masterpiece, and has a very nice display, my hat off to your wife for her great input. Well done! Cheers,
  21. You won't have a virgin deck, with all of that deck furniture. Quite a gathering and very crisp and clean cut.
  22. Put a sheet on the ground, doesn't make them jump around, but drop dead in their track, and a towel on your lap, same effect. I prefer the white sheet, as I like to get on my knees for the missus
