  1. Hello Adrieke, good looking hull, you sure have done your best to get a smooth surface, but it is worth the effort in every case. Nils
  2. Mobbsie, your HMS Agamemnon is fantastic ! Congratulations to the completion of this wonderful build, a delight to look at.... Nils
  3. Hello Guy, I`m not sure if you mean the foot device for the sewing machine, this is a regular accessory for doing the last stitch line, (not the bolt rope sewing on...), or if you mean my drawn Hand scetch, first pic in post 33, which is representing my "learning by doing" sequence overview, after several Trials..... The enclosed pics are showing the Trials on the spanker sail of my 1:64 scale HMS Pegasus, done in the described way Nils
  4. Beautiful build Bob, I`m looking Forward and am very interested in your ongoing masting and rigging work, ver nice clean work... Nils
  5. Congrats to this beautiful model Hans, and thanks for sharing this great build log. What will your next be ? Nils
  6. Very nice looking Nigel, the Color Play of the cerry stained parts and the light Color Wood, although it will be planked over later on, always reminds me of the structural sandstone Color Play of structural gothic cathedral- or monastery Buildings Lovely work... Nils
  7. admirable work at that scale Gobi, Looks very neat and well done Nils
  8. Many thanks Ian, Bob, Juergen, and Popeye, for the sewing I`ll do a few more Trials, many ideas come when doing it and I`m not absolutely pleased with the momentary results so far. The sails will be exposed to the first sight of a Viewer later and I would lke them to satisfy my own Obligation. In the Moment I need to concentrate on the heating of our house because the gas fired heater has just given up its prior much reliable lifetime, is 21 years old, and I find no more special spareparts, wether on the european market nor on the web, so I may be facing a complete new unit for installation . I`m lucky we have no frost yet Nils
  9. Very nice work Ian, your "Bounty" Looks great. Together with the rigged sails she is going to be a beauty Nils
  10. hello Bob and Keith, its always a bit tricky to get the sail stitching done repeatable and in a hopefully neat condition. Unfortunately I do`nt have the patience to do this in hand-stitching mode, like for example member Maurino does his sails. (wish I could...) I think the technique I use for machine-sewing on the bolt-rope works quite well, at least I used this for all "Gorch Fock" and for all "Pamir" sails. Due to the foreseen rigging bowlines for the "HMS Pegasus" sails I probably will not need to reinforce the bottom sail bolt-ropes of the square sails with steel wire to simulate a wind filled sail Nils
  11. Have just received the ordered 1 mm diam line I`m going to use for the bolt ropes and am starting with trial sail sewing on my wife`s sewing machine. to begin with I trust the spanker sail is the relatively easy one Nils
  12. Hello Fellow modelbuilders, for those who have wondered where the Pictures for machined sail making of this thread had vanished to...., here a resubmit of the part 1 + 2 pics. Somehow they went lost several months ago, and I trust they may be of interest to the one or other who is confrontated with self sail-sewing...... Nils Part 1
  13. Kees, with your skill and your experience I`m sure you will build a model your grandfather would be proud of. Will be looking out for the keellaying soon.... Nils
  14. Great looking Details Danny, I also lke those halfring shaped wooden line-guides for the spritboom , the Amati plan is missing these in the scale 1:64 though, I would like to adopt These... Nils
  15. shadowplay, nice idea Omega, one could nearly ceate a game, cast a shadow only for riddle... what ship is it? Nils
  16. Peter, your Suggestion to look out for that book....., I found a second Hand one from a dutch antiquariate (already ordered) at a good reasonable Price, am curious to hold it in Hands and to study it in a couple of days. Many thanks for your tip Nils
