  1. Congratulations Bob to that beautiful built "Halifax" schooner.... Did you already mention which your next project will be ? Nils
  2. Bob and Piet, thank you for your kind and much appreciated comments...., and I`m very pleased you like the ship I`m now thinking of how to do the bow headrails best and fitting into the scheme.. Nils
  3. Good work Pawel, your iron strapping certainly will resist the worst storm and heavy sea.... Nils
  4. Update : the companionway down to the lower deck ready for mounting..... there is a sliding head hatch cover, to enable crew to enter the stairway in upright position. The companionway can be arranged in either open or closed mode... Nils the slide function is given with brass profiles A little stepway with handrail leads up to the grating platform... the boom here in place is only a dummy to check alignment and angle... there is hardly space for the cleat in front of the pumps
  5. Hi Jaeon, for scale 1:96 I always use the railroad 1:87 figures (gauge HO), there is no difference in hight.... search there for ships crew. Nils
  6. Hakan, the clinker planking looks great, I love the bow view in the second last picture.... Nils
  7. An excellent built model Greg, very nice the different wooden tones of the timbers.... Nils
  8. Thank you very much Christos, for the pirate figurine, have a look here : http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=pirate-captain-(limited-bronze-resin)~hfp024b&category=fantasy-%26 steampunk~fantasy-pirates Cheers, Nils
  9. A small update... yesterday made the support taking up the boom which the bottom line of the aft sail is rigged to, and the seat of ease (port aft corner) and a little bucket for flushing with sea water....., might need to install a light half high rail there for hanging a small curtain to (for personal privacy). Also the bow anchor cable cleats Nils a look under the aft quarter deck. The companionway housing for the foreground stairs will be one of the next sequences in progress....
  10. Gary, congratulations to this super and well built ship model. You cam be proud of her as she displays in her large glass casing... Nils
  11. Thank you Piet, yes, I liked the look of the planking as before, but it was also a bit bare to look at. So the yellow touch provides an optical improvement and it goes quite well with the black and white... Nils
  12. Many thanks Mike, I brought a bit of color to the hul below the walesl, white and a bit ocher sections, but no more to the hull. Perhaps a little dull black to the bow head-rails when they are mounted...... I`m using tamiya tape for masking, which I find very clean to work with... Nils
  13. Thank you Carl, very much appreciated. This morning I painted the EOA underwater section in white paint... Nils
  14. fantastic build in detail Dan, very accurate modeling of fine structures, I love those tiny stairs up to the bridge wings, even they have brown painted handrails !! Nils
  15. Chebec crew posing for a group photo....., six of them missed the appointment date with the photographer, they are still drinking and eating under deck.... Nils
  16. Wonderful art again Jim, beautiful arrangement with ship before glacier front, hopefully the waters are broad and deep enough to allow her to turn around there.... Nils
  17. Hi Mike, welcome to the log viewing audience for the Chebec and also for your much appreciated kind words and that intensive dip into the log. As you could see I`m not building the Amati kit version, and so nearly all building sequences are redesigned / bashed and in larger scale. I thought that there would be an interest by my fellow builders how I solved this, and decided to share the activities with others, in case someone should be tempted to scratch build from a drawing plan Nils
  18. Hi Mike, Thank you very much for your kind words for the conclusion of this build, and of course also for the other builds, for which I saw you had a deep look at. I`m pleased that you liked the models. Yes I`m very happy that my wife agrees, that as long as the models stay in my hobby sphere, its up to me how they are arranged and displayed. For the Chebec very much to my regret I unfortunately have no mooring place yet. Nils
  19. Grüezi Jean Paul, welcome to MSW, and enjoy your stay with your fellow builders, wish you pleasant exploring and much fun here..... Nils
  20. Hi Moxis, I think the British web- sites "Cornwall Boat Models" or "model Dockyard" could provide what you are looking for. They have make Quaycraft clinker Dinghi and bouble ender clinker Lifeboat in scale 1:24, lengths round a bout 200mm, but perhaps do not have then on stock right now. May be worth a try..... They will be quite a cost.., but versa scratch build on your own.. ? http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/quaycraft-boats-124.html Nils
  21. Hi Denis, thanks for stepping aboard, you`re very welcome, its nice to see you here. And thank you for your kind words. Greetings to Zagreb... Nils
