Did I every mention that I am having the time of my life
.
Slow start to the day but hey I am loving it.
This little kit is nice to put together and painting to was so much fun. However, when it comes to rigging, no blocks of any kind, I put most of this kit together by following their plan lol. I have not learnt anything in four years that plans may be WRONG lol. Oh well.
One of the benefits of modeling is my reading skills have improved dramatically but my understanding is lacking. Lol.
starboard side is rigged up to the Bowsprit mast, I decided to leave the Bowsprit sail until after the figurehead is installed. That and I have to add some racks for tieing the Bowsprit rigging to the ship. Speaking of rack, Keith I don't think that would be historical correct, lol. I will run it past my printer, but it's his birthday today and I don't want to bug him to much. He's at that age you know , lol.
Anyway let's flip this ship and rig the portside. It would have been a lot easier if I had tie all the blocks to the mast first, shaking syndrome, and threading blocks I am at that age you know. Lol.
The port side still needs six single blocks, but easy to reach.
Things are looking good for Sunday, except the Bowsprit sail, small revisions are needed.
Thanks for looking in,
Bob M.

Only 26 more lines to run then tie them all off, then anchors, ships boat, done lol.
I have been looking into the figurehead, the kit come with no blocks, no figurehead
no ships boat, no thimble blocks , no heart blocks. I thank my God for my friend who is a wizard at printing things. I have to be careful what I say around him because when he hears that I need something he will print it lol. Here is the figurehead he is working on. It wont be exactly like this and will be attached a bit different . I don't know where I got this picture but it is from a Golden Hind build someway. I am only using the idea not exactly as shown.
plan is to file the bow flat, about half way through about. Once flat the figurehead will be pinned to it. Should work.
The body is slowly healing, at 70 they say it takes longer to heal, lol I don't know about that because it seems something always hurts 😅 🙃.
I got to spend a few hours today in the shipyard, the weekend looks great for time in the yard, so a push to get'er done by Sunday night, we will see. There not much to do now that the 5th season is over lol. So I should get lots done. Talk to you Sunday.my friends

I will be building this Scientific Bluenose kit, it doesn't even have any maple leafs on it. I have a Billings Bluenose to do as well, no flag with the kit, but it shows an Ensign on the Mizzen mast , no maple leaf either.
Good luck on your journey, joining you soon lol

I have taken the Hind out of the display case and have her back on the bench . I have had a few set backs nothing serious, I fell awhile ago separated my shoulder, that's getting better, now I blew a knee, got a 850.00 brace for my knee that only further my pain in my wallet 🙃.
I recived my order for rigging lines so now I can continue on.my journey.
plan in hand, time to get all the blocks and line install, lash down the ships boat anchors and flag done. Lol
Coming up to four years that I have been modeling, time flys when your having fun. And being here is the most fun one could ever have. Thanks so much for showing me how. Talk soon my shipmates.

My way is to use a small paint scraper, or the back side of wood chisel, then light sanding, good to go. A damp rag with isopropynol 99.9 works for me as well. Nice work so far Zvr

Good luck on your journey, the Duchess of Kingston is a wonderful ship to built, the quality of the material and the great instructions are hands down the best I have ever done. One peice of advice hide the knight figurehead until the last possible second to install lol
