I must admit that I could have been a bit worried,  lol as I ran around the house calling on my family " How do  I fix this , help me lol"  Today it has been two years that I join MSW. An the thought of you all gone in a second  made me think, thankful for all the help here for the last two years. I have learnt a bit , but lots to go. I am so happy I am going to start a new log  LOL 

That is an awesome model,  you do some nice work. Congratulations

Well my friends,  it is that time. I am going to mark this one finished. Made and attached the rudders, and finally  Captain Marvin Got his  pillows lol.

It's  all done, and we decided to add more wind to the sails.  So I saturated the sail with GAC 400, got the hair dryer, low heat, high wind, and using the hair dryer I blew it for about 10 minutes  . The sail turn out fine.

I gave this boat to the first Mate,  she said she loves it. So I got a even bigger  grin on my face lol  bye for now 😅

Well I am getting there, installed the floor, false keel. The false keel has quite the bend to it and I was looking for a spare because I was sure it was going to break, but it didn't  lol. 

After that it was the cap rail , they almost fit with out any bending , just a little bit of heat and they fit perfectly. 

 Then I made the oars, rudders, davits, and stern  peice. So I have the benches to make and prep the sails, run four rigging  lines, no wait six  lol.  I will be done rigging in a day lol. Yep getting  close on this one. It has been a blast. The bending of the wood, the making of the amber shellac,  it was all so much fun to do. I am sure  The First Mate will  love this  as she does say it looks beautiful  every time she comes to visit me in the ship yard, lol.

 So just a bunch of things to put together and I call it done , maybe a week or less.

Thank you very much for the likes and comments,  appreciated  😊.  So we move on to the decks, also made the yardarm, mast, and drilled holes for the ropes later. The decks turn out well, the wood is excellent. I have to Thank Scott Miller soon, I will send him a picture when done.lolNow it was time for the cutwater, I traced the bow on a peice of paper, a left pofile and a right, or port side , starboard. Then I stacked the 4x4 and traced it on. Everything looked straight,  but by the time I fitted it,  there was a bit of a slant. But it will do lol. 

The port side looks more rounded than the starboard side,  but you would have to look close for that.

 Captain Marvin has one complaint though  lol. 

The first Mate  would like a floor in her boat, so today I should glue in the mast. Install  the floor and put the cap rails on, we will see lol. This will be the display  side . I am pretty happy with the boat so far. I am even thinking of my next build lol, and I have not finished this one. Lots of time though  lol.

That is some fine work my friend. You just might make it lol. And you can come over to my place when your done, bring pictures  lol

@Bryan Woods, I can't really say how much I used. I just took the top off the bottle  and used an old artist  brush. Then just threw it away.  So I finished the ribs, installed the stringers. I made some amber shellac, and coated the inside, got carried away and did the hull one coat. It looks marvelous  I think. The first Mate loves it.

Starting to do the decking but the old  eyes are getting tired  lol.  This is were she be now. This is a fun build the wood and the instructions are top notch.  Can't wait till tomorrow to finish the decks, but got some outside work to do, the first Mate is itching to get at her garden,  so I will have to rotter  till  it for her. Plus we got to go on a road trip at the beginning of June so she wants her oil changed in her car before we go. Shees don't they know I got modeling to do lol. Thanks for all the likes and help. I could not have done this one for sure with out the help of the four logs on this boat here

@Louie da fly, you are so right about covering the strong back with cling wrap. I just found out that CA does not want to stick to it. A note to everyone building this boat in the future.. use cling wrap. I used it under my rubber bands on this boat and it never stuck. Wished I had of known that trick, but will mark that one down in my log. Also, the boat retained it's shape when I took it off.  I just put a piece of planking, because that is what Scott Miller said to do, lol. More on CA, I found out if you put Vaseline on the cap of the bottle you don't need pliers to take the cap off later.The First Mate has joined the fun. She loves the way it looks with clear shellac lol,  so we will see if we go with amber shellac now. But she did make the fishing net, and the basket  🧺. We traced a quarter on a peice of wood, figured out how to devide the circle in 11 equal  parts then we drilled holes for the nails and she went to town. It looks great!!So I decided to make all the ribs that touch the keel first, then I will do the shorter ones..then fill in the rest. So work continues....

Amazing  progress SO far. It is really taking shape.The grandchild will love it. As for the poor pintles and the poor capstan from AL, let's stay focused on the task at hand lol. Happy  thoughts Happy ship lol.

Well I suppose you are all wondering if it made it off the strong back,lol. Not once ,not twice, but thrice did I whack the strong back with my hammer. Lol The third time I hit it,  it was do or die , I used the power of Thor's hammer, all I heard was wood splitting , what have I done!!! Lol I tried working it off, even sprayed water on the tapes in hopes that it would loosen up ,but no luck. So I wrapped my fingers onto the stern, and whacked it, on the strong back, this is what happened. 6 of the nine bulk heads came unglued, but only one broke and I glued it all back together,  just in case I ever want to make another one lol.And this is what it looked like on the inside before I sanded it and clean it up. Then I guickly  put it on the stand.So , I cleaned it up, then coated the inside with CA. Then I sprayed shellac sealer on the outside, just a quick coat of clear.  I will be using my own crystal amber shellac; never made my own but have used lots of pre mix in my day.So now it is on to the ribs.  I set up my little  plank bender and tried bending a few. They bend really well and in no time I had a few done

 So this is where the boat is at now.

 This has been a real challenge and I loved every minute of it. You can see how it is done on any of the logs for the sea of Galilee boat, but there's nothing like doing it yourself. 

  I could not have done this to this point without learning how to do it right here from MSW. Thank you so much everyone.

So planking continues, or should I say clamping continues LOL. I noticed one thing,  that is once you fit and shape the plank and it's all ready for glue, you apply the glue and for some reason all bets are off lol. It slides , wiggles, moves and you need every bit of space for another clamp.  I even had to go to an even bigger plank bender,  I starting using my heat gun. I added the bend, placed it and held the heat gun on the  the bend point till it bent to the right spot.  Yes I broke more than I wanted too lol.😜Clamping  continues  all the way to the keel . Yes I had to do a small change as the last 3 planks weren't going to go as planed

. I think I got to much of a bend, they just kept snapping .so the last 3 planks I started  at the keel and fitted  them on. I know, but it's at the bottom and no one will see it, and I plan to put a floor in it. That is if it survives pulling it of the strong back.

  So we will see what happens.  I have no tappered  planks left any way lol. But I do have lots of broking pieces to make the floor if it servies  the  removal process  🤔,  lol. We will see what happens next.  

 Up to this point the kit has been a lot of fun. A big thanks to Scott Miller,  for such a wonderful kit,  the wood is awesome.  And to everyone who looks and likes , thanks so much.

I have to agree with Paul, Outstanding for sure. Ever time I look at your log I am amazed by how you can make it look so good.
