  1. Nice! You essentially made the same kind of aid that others use with a piece of wire or two. However, after doing the wire jig thing myself (and struggled), I really like what you have constructed. Don’t mind if I copy your work do you? 😁
  2. Very sorry to here of the loss of your son Keith. God’s peace will sustain you and He will guide your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus and his angels with guard over you. Take your time. Prayers for you and the family. 🙏
  3. GREAT illustration Allan! Your diagram shows what I tried to say. 😆
  4. Your assessment of how the lines run is correct. The bad drawings that came with my current build had several shown backward with line going the wrong way. My technique for any block installation is to picture the block in my mid and remember there would be a pulley where that hole is and the line always goes in the hole and over the roller, not in the hole and rubbing out the block the wrong way. So the way you described what you see is absolutely correct.
  5. I started the rigging on my LN like you, standing rigging. I had the shrouds all done (no rat lines) and someone pointed out I missed some cleats. And then as I started looking at things, discovered there was no way I was going to get lines tied to the belaying pins. Are you concerned about this?
  6. Have fun, be safe. That first big trip of the year was always like a mini training cruise. Look forward to your research results! 👍😀
  7. Go for it, jump in, don’t look back, move forward, go team go! 👍
  8. Very nice Jason! The authentic knot and seizing is a goal of mine on my next build. Looking real good! 👍😀
  9. Top yard installed and rigged. Now comes the fun… seeing if the shrouds will go back in place. 😳
  10. Hi Neil, good to meet you mate. 👍😀
  11. Hi There! Welcome to the MSW forum. Do we call you by any other name than native one?
  12. I really need to bite the bullet and buy a couple 1:64 scale dudes. I tightened up the foot ropes. Haven’t glued the inner points yet.
  13. Sailors who went aloft back in the day had huge, brass…. Pocket knives. 🤣
  14. Thanks Todd. The rigging is actually going much better and faster than I imagined it would. Nothing fancy on this build… no rope coils etc.
  15. Interestingly enough, I fought those foot ropes more than anything on the build so far. Made 4 sets before I settled on these. I agree they look a little long (and probably are when I get a scale Dude up there). That is one thing I’ve noticed on lots of builds… foot ropes that look to long. It’s in my notes for things to pay attention to on the next build. 👍
  16. Picture when you get it together. I’m still in the hunt for one.
  17. Hi Greg, welcome to the forum! 👍😀
  18. Hi Diver, welcome! 👍😀
