  1. That all looks really nice, Dan. Yes, handrails were usually painted or varnished (if they were wood), but I agree that leaving yours bright adds a very nice touch. John
  2. Hello Zuko, and a warm welcome to the forum from 'Down Under'. John
  3. Hello, and a warm welcome from 'Down Under'. John
  4. I really like your cut-out windows, Danny. You might be able to fix the railing by holding it vertically and running a tiny bit of half-dried epoxy between the points. John
  5. Looking good, Dan. It was spring down here in the civilised part of the world - now (a very hot) summer! John
  6. Michael, that left hand fall looks just right from the photo! You can "unfuzz" using beeswax (which can look sticky if you're not careful and can attract dust) or some people run their rope (very) quickly through a flame such as a cigarette lighter. By the way, I trust the falls in the photo are simply for comparison as the fall (of course) needs to be spliced to the lower block. John
  7. I'm really pleased to see that work has resumed on this beautiful restoration, Michael. John
  8. Looking very nice, Adrian, but a question. Were the frames of flat plate or were they angle girders? John
  9. Hello, Antonio, and a warm welcome to the forum from 'Down Under'. John
  10. Not sure what all that wood is for Keith, but it'll be interesting to find out! John
  11. Now she's really starting to look like a ship, Ken! John
  12. Hello John, and a warm welcome to the forum from 'Down Under'. John
