  1. Sounds like you had a really great day with the kids, Michael - good on you. Love the picture of your cutter on the beach - just waiting for the tide. John
  2. Thanks Robert! Not skill so much a dogged determination (or is that pig headed stubbornness?) John
  3. A great yacht to build! The original is now housed in the Fremantle Maritime Museum in Western Australia. John
  4. Wow! I missed an update and she's half finished! She looks really beautiful, Bib. John
  5. Looks really nice, Bob. I'm not familiar with American fishing schooner rig. What's the angled strap from the mastheads and down around the topmasts? John
  6. All of the "standard" frames are now fitted. The next job will be to fit some stringers to stiffen up the hull before I tackle the stern framing. The first of the stringers - the deck clamps - have been roughed out and roughly bent ready for fitting. Once they're in another set of stringers will be fitted along the turn of the bilge (roughly), then the next job will be to work out the stern framing. John
  7. What sort of thread are you using, Les? Dilute PVA is usually invisible when it dries. John
  8. Les, try painting them with diluted PVA glue. Just dilute with water about 50% and see how it goes. John
  9. You're right, Bob - it does almost look like matting. Very nice! John
  10. She really looks beautiful, Remco (both the ship and the kitten) - just keep a close eye on Pebbles the part napper! John
