  1. Nice work. Yes, we all have the dime the size of a silver dollar. Congrats on the A/C !
  2. That is a very pleasing line you've created there Mark. Those upcoming curves are something. Hold fast!
  3. Frightening thought, isn't it Mark? Hope things settle down and get you back to Licorne planking soon.
  4. Welcome aboard, Eddie. Looks like Elsie will make into a really nice schooner. Glad you've decided to start a build log here. Plenty of expertise and encouragement aboard. Oh, sorry you ran into Sjors on your first visit. Nice table! OK, now the real question........ what's your ship's cat name????
  5. Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes. Anja - yeah, it does look fairly good blown up Sjors - If I catch nothing over the next 3 days, I don't come back at all! In that case you, as Senior Officer, are in charge ---- of EVERYTHING.
  6. Just a quick update. The rigging on the T'gallants and Royals has been completed. Main and Forecourse braces and clews coming next. Here's the best I can do, photographically, to depict where we are: Like to wish those up North a Happy Canada Day -- tomorrow, while I venture up to my favorite lake at 10,000 + foot elevation to fish for the elusive arctic grayling (assuming the winter's ice has melted). Back in the shop by the 4th of July !!
  7. Sounds like a well spent hour, indeed. In/out, up/down ...... make them all the same!!!!
  8. Thanks to you both for posting and answering. I just came across this issue myself and thought it was a bit strange. Now I understand.
  9. I knew it. A couple of days away, you come back and take a look and bingo.......a new version emerges. Very nice work Robbyn .... and a great decision. Proud of ya
  10. Yup, that looks familiar. You work for months keeping things nice and neat and suddenly you have loose lines hanging all over. Get used to it ----it all comes together.
  11. Nice work on all the fiddly bits. Very clean! Glad you discovered 'Better Living Through Chemistry'. When all else fails......read the directions And hope you had good news when you awoke to the newly dried paint!
  12. Yes, an incompatibility somewhere along the line. Sorry about that Grant.
  13. Awwww........at least there's one nice person in the Netherlands! Sjors is one lucky guy!!!!
  14. I just checked the ME photos on their display model and, sure enough, the bowsprit goes under the caprail Completely different from Syren. Here's the photo: http://www.modelexpo-online.com/images/Grafx/item_shots/MS2240/3.jpg
  15. WOW! Repairs? What repairs. That is one whole lot of progress Mobbsie. She looks great and I love the deck details. Especially the 'cooker' as you call it. Question- Did you use Sjors as consultant on the transom ??
