  1. As I said, we all have our own experience. I don't use it much on ships. But I do use it extensively on model airplanes ranging from 1/7 to 1/3 scale and have done so since the 1950's. These machines are flown and subject to severe stress at ambient temperatures ranging from 10-110 degress F. Have never seen an epoxy failure on wood to wood bonds.
  2. Thank you, Adeline. No need for you to rush!!!! There goes, Kevin, plugging his 'Latest Full Profile Photograph' thread again. It's actually a fun idea
  3. Hey, if it's on the Internet, it must be true
  4. I have to say I've never seen that happen. But we each have our own experiences.
  5. Yambo brings up a great point. You can add sawdust or silica (in the form of what is called 'microballoons') and the epoxy becomes very sandable once dried. And for waterproofing, it's great.
  6. Glad to hear you've made up your mind on the 'fix'. Well done. Oh, while you're on the boat on the way home, don't forget to open the Aggy and inventory the parts. We want photos. And I fully expect to see 3 builds running simultaneously when you get home. Heck, we've seen you juggle before
  7. Welcome back! I remember her. You did a nice job getting that warp out of there. I'll pull up a chair if you don't mind.
  8. Hey Popeye....when you finish with the sails, I can use a new suit. 44 Long. Make it black....all I attend these days are weddings and funerals. Really top notch stuff you're doing!
  9. Oh brother......I can't see it coming. First the lathe, then a mill, then a thickness sander......etc. Before you know it the thread is a tool review and the darkside comes into play.
  10. Moving right along Sarah. Lookin' good. Love your decking. And, of course, the radio. Doll up that cabin ---- a nice small section of a map can serve as a wall chart of the local waters. But all that comes later. Good luck with the move. We'll all be here when you return to full strength in your new digs.
  11. Congratulations! And I'm glad to hear you admit that 'she looks great'.....beause she does. Well done, mate. Thank you for sharing your fine build with us. Please be sure to get her posted on the Completed Ship Gallery. Do you have thoughts on your next voyage?
  12. When I read the word 'completed' in your post I fell right off my chair. Given the nature of our hobby, you don't see that every day. Looking forward to the photos
  13. I'll be interested to see what you decide on the bulwark/cabin colors. My Syren doesn't have any cabins.....just deck and bulwarks!
  14. Congrats on the fix! I'm sure photos will show up. Yes, titanium did the trick. Call me the $150,000 man (parts and labor)
  15. Good idea to switch over for a bit. But I don't want to hear any more about 'firewood'. You've got a lot of good work in her and you WILL be proud when she's done. When is the trip to Agamemnon....... I mean England
  16. Good heavens, Grant. There's nothing belated about it. I just appreciate you stopping by. You and everyone else! There's so much progress here on MSW that it's hard to keep up. Especially on 'certain threads' where saber rattling, groundhogs and the weather seem to constantly creep in
  17. Nice work. See that sheer line starting to develop? Going to be a pretty Lady!
