An airbrush......something I never tried. May be time to think about that. I have no idea on the waterway scarph joint. I blended mine in but there no saying that's correct. Glad you asked the question as we'll both get an answer! -
Sjors is amazing! I love all his graphics. I'm lucky to add a 'smiley' now and then. But when it comes to going to the dark side, watch out for his better half!

Thanks Grant! Frank ---- good to hear from you. Yeah, I put in 10 or 15 minutes every week and the progress just happens . Of course, I've yet to tackle barnacles!!! Regarding our young friend Sjors, mentorship would be more up your alley. His latest foray in marine architecture has resulted in a piggy back, 9 deck behemoth sporting over 100 guns. I'm sure you've seen it. Throttling back his unbridled enthusiasm requires a man of your stature and experience.

'Please do not try this at home'.........you crack me up. Where is the 'Professional bleacher, closed workshop' caution??? You have some eye for color difference. Give it a few days to cure/dry before you come up with 'Final Answer'. -
Looks like you're ready right now . Save some of those stain products ----- you may need them on Syren. But I want to follow this longboat 'til then.

You folks on here are way too nice. But I greatly appreciate you're stopping by. Fear not Anja, plenty of champagne to go around (even for Sjors). BOB- me, fear rigging? No that was planking......or was it coppering.....or ? We're getting there thanks in good part to the advice and support on here. OK, everyone else's turn. I'll be watching

Thanks Thomas, Ben and JP. Ben remembers my secret about the 'Better than Real Life' setting on my camera. Thinking about next project. Confederacy has always been tempting (no ratlines ). Fully rigged she would be immense. JP knows I like Rattlesnake but how could I ever top his? The there is the frontrunner ---- the new MS Essex. If she comes out with a rigging kit, depending on the dimensions, she might be the one. You see the first wooden ship I built back in the 70's was the old MS Essex, solid hull, I think 1/8 scale. She's the one I dropped down a flight of stairs during a move. Lousy aerodynamics!!!!!! So that might complete the 'circle of life' But we're MONTHS away yet and, with Spring coming, it could be Fall before a new keel hits the ways.

OK, we've played this tune before on the main mast but now we've moved forward! In spite of Sjors recent allegations, I did not 'forget' to rig the foremast. The upper foremast shrouds, shear strips/futtocks, cleats, sister blocks and catharpins are complete. Even better, the last of the ratlines have been tied. I am stuck as to which title to bestow upon myself........'King of the Clove Hitch' or Edward Tweezerhands. Anja can now return!!!! We shall now be moving on to the more sweeping aspects of the forward standing rigging. Looking forward to seeing the bowsprit once again

Stop complaining. You are still in the work force. Many of us poor retirees live on fixed incomes , sleep in cardboard boxes and eat dog food. This will be a real treat!
