  1. thanks Sjors.........I'm sure there are some with the munchies right about now glad to have you following along you are right Nenad.........I have been chained to this computer long enough! all my logs are written {except for the Titanic...I still have to start it}, all the gallery pictures are posted.........it's time I got around to some playtime I have a couple of pictures, but I will compile a few more before I update again.
  2. I was referring to the part that is lying on the table. no matter.........your doing a super job on her
  3. looking good Izzy. yea......you might have a little repair work to do, but what stayed looks pretty darn good!
  4. I have to do my own sails.........got a complete tutorial about sewing machine operation and everything. I already know how to Iron you've made some really stellar progress Jerry!
  5. that is a really nice smooth finish.........bottom paint and striping is really going to add to it's beauty! very nice work!
  6. thanks O.C. and Dragzz.........welcome to the group!! with as many folks who have chimed in........I can definitely call us that! thanks Evan.......Academy has around six or seven offering of this model....I must have the basic kit. I'm not sure yet concerning changes to the kit itself, but yea.......I think the fore and aft railings really could use some P.E. anyway.....it will be a while before I get to that point. thanks for the pictures......I did some dry fits with these areas, and yea, they fit a little weird......perhaps I may follow a similar route. I still have some checking to do.......I'm not looking for perfection, but I want it to look good without breaking the bank. glad to have you following along.......not sure if I can shed any light {after seeing what your doing with the Connie}, but if you see anything....feel free I see you have the wood decking too........I'm jealous
  7. I have the movie Greg.........haven't sat through it in a while though {I'm mostly a horror nut} no I can't Ben.......guess I know how to pick 'em thanks Frank...I browsed through their kits..........besides cornering the market on the Titanic, they have some armor kits that involve P.E. and special effects. I know you haven't been feeling yourself of late........do whatever you need to to get comfy. I'm glad your here
  8. just a bit too futuristic for me....if it was a plastic kit, that would be one thing. I did 'Keaton's' batmobile........pretty bland being a black car with fins how about depth charges Bob..........would that be worth it
  9. thanks Ed.......I had a load of fun with the project I've never seen this one Patrick.........looks like a shark!
  10. I think Polar lights make one as well. I also downloaded the plans for the Slo Motion, another Billing's kit. I was going to make the M&M boat using them, if the admiral liked it. she didn't though........too bad! it would have been a racing boat, rather than the Fun Ship. anyway, I could use those plans..........of course I'd have to modify it, so it would have a twin cockpit. I'm thinking old school...Batman and Robin.
  11. my last plastic kit was 2009.......the Cutty is still waiting to be repaired from the move and to have her braces and studding sails put on. I'm trying to get another one.......from a friend in Hawaii if there is anything I can teach you Sal........it's imagination. but if you see something you can use....feel free! I like tanks too.......but the half track gives you the best of both worlds.......the Germans had some pretty cool variants. I'll do the best I can Piet....but what are we going to do with an empty Heineken crate? hey......got one for ya a guy robs a liquor store and makes off with a case of brandy. the cops caught him, drunk as a skunk...he had drunk one of the bottles. well, they arrested him and took the rest of the case as evidence. his court date comes up.........the judge throws it out of court. the judge said they couldn't make a case out of 11 bottles! I know.......silly......but that's me what kits do you have on the shelf? browsing minds want to know welcome to you all.....I hope I don't bore you to tears with this one, but I'll try my best to make it interesting. one more day at work, and then it's play time again. I did mess around with the bridge deck, putting a few walls up. I was saddened to see that the injection pin marks were on the OUTSIDE of the walls! I think the bulwarks that attach to the decks {after they are stacked} will hide this, but I'll see when I get to that point. update soon!
  12. thanks Michael I posted the A.G., the Phylly C and the Denny-zen on my face book the other day........don't know why I did, I hardly go there I was looking at the dates......do you realize that I didn't finish any boats in 2014. that was my hiatus.......the whole summer was out the window. after finally getting a little done on the Holiday Harbor builds, I gave in and built the A.G. best idea I ever had........the tangent I went off on, really got me going! thank you for the kind comment......it proved to me, that every thought I had about that hull...was spot on! thanks Piet......bring all you can...I'll help you drink it hee...he.....the Bat Boat {what the hell did I get myself into}! I gotta get some wood before I can start.......I'll look at some pictures, but if I need to, I probably can get away with using the templates for the lobster boat.....give it a bit of a twist if I get a start, I'll post it in the Titanic build....so you'll know where to look
  13. it's funny Jack.......a friend of mine has a huge surplus of armor kits. I asked him if he had any half tracks. this hull is pre painted Scott....I wish they didn't. I need to clean up some imperfections, and the parts I need to add, are another color. I do mix paints, but with all the off - shade colors that are out there today, why bother. I'll just make the repairs and assemblies, and repaint it. glad to have you follow along. I haven't built an Academy kit either Keith.......I guess we'll both find out I'm humbled to see so many here to watch this build. you are all so very welcome to attend I hope I can make it interesting for you all!
  14. I know what your saying Greg........I'm finding it odd not to think of the next thing to do to her. it's funny like that........you build a kit...and yea, you have fun doing it. you plan.......and think.......and think some more.......soon to be done.....it's a nice looking build. I can't describe how fluid this build was....the only thing I really really had to worry about, was staying in scale. I hope I did that well........I think I did I do have a few other builds in mind.......there's the S.S. Olive Oyl, the Orca {from Jaws}, and the Bat Boat. {I added it Patrick, it's official } you just never know what will land on my table thank you Sjors.........your enthusiasm knocked me clean out of my chair! glad you liked the end result
  15. those pictures really puts that engine into perspective...........really small! I wish you well with preparations for the move.....definitely an understandable reason for your hiatus. I hope everything goes smoothly
  16. it not about speed Bob........ take it from me.......I'm a recovering slump-a-holic I didn't do much the whole summer last year! I'm sure that one day your going to think of something..........it's going to light those rockets of yours..........and look out!
  17. i figured the fancy stem was for the bow........see what I get for thinking
  18. george.....there is a model like that on you tube. I also have many videos of the events that lead up to the sinking.
