  1. hi Anja no worries first tiny hint. its a cruiser class ship . 6 of theses where build in the 1930's i make tiny changes on the photos so they cant be googled
  2. thanks Wayne and Anja thanks Robbyn and Randy. but i ll do that when its all permanently in place and still working thanks Mick it does look nice hoping i can get better pictures as my cmaera is not good at night pictures
  3. lol Wayne not this time but if I ever make a paddle wheeler again I will . I did have a look at the gearboxes from Tamiya when I was in the hobbystore but its too difficult to put it in
  4. hmm my earlier post seems to be gone thanks for all the confidence Anja, Popeye SJors and Mick testing the connections using toothpicks to see if the connections align perfect after fitting the metal pins i hooked up everything and voila :
  5. I am with you there . I d really like to build the victory Chris Watton is working on now or the aggie and Chucks Syren.
  6. Also regarding the instructions, I have got all my models direct from OcCre and they have all arrived with English instructions so hopefully..................... that's weird as the hobby store said OcCre does not supply English manuals with any of their models.
  7. thanks vulcanbomber. I have a fair bit of Humbrol /Revel paints but I am liking the Valejo range as they seem to have a wider range colors Thanks MIck I have been told the anatomy of a ship series are pretty good : http://www.amazon.com/Captain-Cooks-Endeavor-Anatomy-Ship/dp/0851778968
  8. sanded down the outside edge a few bits came off but they will be covered up started on the middle deck. I used 3 separate pieces on each side so I could get the tiny bend in it. the aft deck is going to be more annoying as the plywood false deck is about 1.5 mm less in width all the way.
  9. you could gently drill a hole and then use needle files to square them off
  10. very nice rigging I guess the spiders didn't get upset with all the moose around
  11. so this is the idea I will drill 3 holes in this part I made to cover up the wiring. through this holes will go the pins that are fastened to the 3rd deck underneath 3 connectors will be glued that hook up to the wiring module when the 3rd deck is bolted down the pins will make contact with the connectors
  12. I guess it depends how far away he was when he shot and yeah from the hip would make it a lot harder. and no I am not a pro never shot a real gun.
  13. hi Slog yes the admiralty colors are probably not what I should have bought for making her look like the replica. they l come in handy for a future build I have constructed the waterways for the bow deck.
  14. Floyd that is an amazing gesture
  15. thanks David. at first I thought you photopshoped 2 bits of black lego on to her lol my next one :
  16. while waiting for some glue to dry on the kom I thought I once and for all tackled the paint problem I had ordered some admiralty paints which are great but the red ochre does not match the color of the replica I used this paint database which allows you to upload pictures and find out which color of several brands match it best : http://scalemodeldb.com/paint I finally decided on the Valejo Red color I did a test and I am happy with the result I also I drew the planking on to the bow deck . I will first add the waterways so I can paint them red without having to mask the other planks
  17. thanks Piet ust take a seat Sjors will be over soon with your drink thanks Rowand thanks Jim yup sure feels good and certainly now I think I solved the last problem thanks mobsie thanks Mark. well I need something to keep the guest quiet while I build when she launches there will be champagne don't worry plenty of beers for everyone no pictures (sorry forgot) but I have figured out how to hook up 3rd deck to the second deck so I can easily remove it even with the smokestacks and all I installed:)
  18. umm your friend is either the worse shot or he didn't want to hit it
  19. very nice . once you are done it wil make it easy to glue them all nicely in place
