The only corner I may have to cut is the carving of the ornaments. I can probably carve them in the future and add them to the boat. For now I'll use the resin castings.

I don't know if it's possible to complete this model in the next ten weeks, but I'm going to enter it in the 37th Annual Joint Club Ship Model Conference. The pressure is on.

175.00 is more than reasonable for what your getting. Will there be a hard copy of the instructions with the kit or is that something that would be downloaded?

I don't know how many people will be able to start in this group but I would like to be in it if possible. If not in the first wave maybe the second.

Chuck,
When you rig this model can you use the boxwood internally strapped blocks that you sell or are they from a later period? I'm Just asking because that would look outstanding.

I went to a ship model show early this year. Someone entered the Imperial Russian Steam Launch Dagmar. It came out absolutely beautiful. In fact I selected it as best in show.

I will probably build both because boats are my favorite thing. It's going to be some time before this boat is on the market.

I noticed Model shipways has a new model of the eighteenth century long boat at a 1:24 scale version. It's going to be about 24" long once it's built.

Mike- congrats! It came out great. Finally started mine and not looking forward to planking. ;-) What's the next project...Mayflower?
Steve
I'm leaning towards the New Bedford Whale Boat. I here that the Mayflower is a bear to plank because of the shape of the bow. I don't need another bear to wrestle at this time.

Thank you, once it was planked in was pretty stable. There was a point in this build where I thought I wasn't going complete this project. My first attempt at planking this boat was a disaster.

I've faired the frames and put a coat of Wipe On Poly.
