  1. Thanks everyone. I'm heading over to the eye office Monday. I did some research via phone with them and they might have some things that might work temporarily such as some 'mix and match" lenses. Sort of like the ones you can buy at the drugstore or grocery store but in this case the lenses are "different". I'll go see what they have. As for the build.... I'm going to work on the bigger bits and pieces that I can see easily.
  2. Netflix? Don't have cable TV by design (mine) but do have Master and Conmander on CD.
  3. I think we cross posted... April at the earliest. Meantime I will sort out what I can and can't do.
  4. I have one but I need the lenses to have prisms as one eye is weaker than the other. I think I need less prism now as I'm getting double vision a lot lately. It'll all be resolved. I can't get in to eye folks until April. Seems they suddenly got swamped with appointments as the restrictions from virus are being raised.
  5. Try this one... https://modelshipsahoy.com/ It's what shows up in a Google search.
  6. I'm temporarily suspending this log. The build isn't going the way I'd like it due my eyes. Apparently, things have changed due to the surgery and the meds and now I need new glasses. I'll continue to work where I'm comfortable with and post as I go on those areas. I'm just having a really hard time seeing the small stuff and working with it. Until I get the new glasses, I just don't feel I can do this kit justice.
  7. For finished ships, put the photos in the gallery.
  8. Welcome to MSW, Lars. I suggest you have a look in the kit area. There's some great builds in the 1901-Present area with detailing and weathering. Also, if there's a particular model ship you're working on, use the Search (upper right hand side) to search for logs. There's also a pinned topic in the kit area with links (https://modelshipworld.com/forum/150-index-of-all-kits-by-brand-and-subject/) And start a log on your project. It's a great way to get advice, help, and also meet other builders.
  9. Good luck with the build. We'll be looking for your log. As for music.. here's a topic:
  10. Jim, I deleted your topic where you asked this same question and Bruce directed you here.
  11. I quite agree with Glenn. Every kit will have compromises and as the saying goes... you can't please all the people all the time.
  12. Nice work, Egilman. I must be stuck in the 20th century as I'm surprised they didn't put the markings on the bottom of main rotors also.
  13. Do the captcha and see if that works. I subscribed some time ago and it worked then. Not sure why it wouldn't work now.
  14. Those might help with any ship model..... tiny bits seem to be the norm.
  15. I almost hate to bring this up, but talking with a friend a bit ago made me think I should. If you've had an adult beverage or having one, or doing any kind of drugs, don't use power tools. Period. By drug I'm talking legal or illegal and it can even be over the counter meds as some do cause drowsiness or slow reaction times. Check the labels and/or Google it, if you're unsure. It was mentioned to me that my BP med can cause dizziness (and it does) and so, no power tools for several hours after taking my meds.
  16. I'll have to remember that if I ever get back to see the Smokies again.
  17. There's 3 more books in the series for the Fully Framed Model. Been I awhile since I looked at them but I believe you need the other books.
  18. Do they have to be brass? I have some that are nylon or some other plastic for the bristles.
  19. Better to introduce yourself late than never. A belated "Welcome to MSW".
  20. Good that you caught this early. As for what you're suggesting....I vaguely remember reading this somewhere.... I'll do some digging.
