  1. I know you'll take good care of her, OC. But also take care of yourself. I think (can't remember) shingles is contageious or can be.
  2. Welcome to MSW, Bob from the other end of the country. There are build logs here of that ship which should help you out. Also, do start a log to bring us up to date. The build log is a great way to meet other builders and also to get help.
  3. Welcome to MSW, Simon. Feel free to start a build log when your ready. It's a great way to meet others and get help when needed.
  4. Welcome to MSW, Jay.
  5. Try this one. It's by manufacturer: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/150-index-of-all-kits-by-brand-and-subject/
  6. Doing well, Glen. I find your idea of the sled as part of the base to be ingenious.
  7. Wonderful video, Greg. It downloaded this but not from the first posting. As for playback, Windows only does what OC says. In Windows I use the VLC player which can be downloaded.
  8. You might do a search with the keyword "Radio" and use the "Titles Only" option. There's quite a few here and some very knowledable builders.
  9. I shows "unavailable" grsjax. I suggest sending to JeffT, he's a moderator and has been updating index in the kit area.
  10. Welcome to MSW, Mic.
  11. Interesting stuff there, Alan. More than a few archiologist types have always said that there's truth in those legends of old. The problem is finding them. So it's very possible that fabled city existed but trick to be to find out where. It's also possible (likely?) it's where it's described as, but buried deep in the sand.
  12. Actually there's two types... active duty and those of us who served our time. So we're all Marines as your quote says but the active ones are Marines since they;re in uniform, the ones who are not active duty, are "former Marines". There's no such critter as an "ex-Marine". I tried the swear box, OC. Didn't work as ended up putting IOU's in it after a few days.
  13. Go here: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/47-how-to-use-the-msw-forum/ One of the topics is about posting photos.
  14. Been a bit frustrating day or so in the shipyard. I've been working on the rudder and got to the point of putting the Rudder Gudgeons on the rudder and fitting the rudder. Could not for the life of me figure out how to mount the gudgeons to the stern post. Then the penny dropped followed by much facepalming, banging of head on desk, and words used only by Marines and former Marines and not in mixed company. I rotated the hull and noted that I didn't finish painting the sternpost and found 5 small holes predrilled..... Doh!!!!!! The gudgeons fit in those holes!!! Anyway, where's where I am... drilling the holes in the stern post for fitting the gudgeons. Hope to have the rudder fitted by tomorrow. Need to stop beating myself up and carry on.
  15. Looking very well done, B.E. I'm not sure the windows were really for looking out at the sea but more for light, Then again, maybe putting a stool on top the "bench" wasn't all that uncommon.
  16. Welcome to MSW, Boydie. By all means, start a log of King George.
  17. That's very true and great place to start. Each has some things that are unique to them.
  18. Well thought out about the dust instead of rust. Looks like a well used desert vehicle. As for the tarp, it looks green in the photos you posted. Would have been green, olive, or something other than tan?
  19. Now that's being positive and thinking ahead. And admiral obviously believes in you on this.
  20. Nice work and looks great and has character. It does seem to belong on a desk.
  21. There's a learning curve even to armor. Do not be ashamed nor afraid. The tank came out great.
  22. Wise choice. We modelers can sometimes be a stubborn bunch.
