    The "likes" themselves (like who liked it) mysteriously disappeared during the upgrade, or so it seems. The like (reputation) count didn't drop... so maybe it was a feature and not a bug.

    What I'm led to believe is that you didn't loose the "like" count, just the indication that someone liked it. It appears to be working as it should but the "likes" on posts before this last update disappeared. In other works, the icon and names went but the number of likes didn't disappear. You can check this by looking at your "reputation".

    Just a question... when did the Constitution get anchor chains? I thought, and could be wrong, that she had cable for the anchors for much of her life.

    Maury, Look around second hand shops or even yard sales for a pressure cooker. The water boils at a higher temperature and being under pressure the steam would get forced into the wood a bit deeper than boiling. Sadly, I dropped my old pressure cooker and it was dinged to the point the lid wouldn't seal.

    Have a look at Patrick's latest. Now that's tiny. Also the ones that Nenad referenced..... Sweet work on the boat, Nenad. I couldn't do that if I tried.

    Bill in Idaho, I've heard of india ink being used (diluted) but I'm not sure if the alcohol is needed for diluting. If you try it, let us know.

    You can also make your own black glue and have the shade the color you want from pitch black to light gray... get some pigment form the art store and mix that in with the glue.

    Well.. I'm hoping to get things moving faster this week as it'll be too darn hot to even go outside (100-115 F) for the highs and in the low to mid 70's F at night.

    Besides pine tar, maybe linseed oil? Not sure except that from what I've read on fitting out, it was pigment and.. turpentine, tar, and oil. Maybe someone has knowledge what these solvents were used for?

    That's excellent news, John. Home really is the best place to be for care and, of all things, food. Hospitals might do the medical, but love is best healer.

    Somewhere there's a compromise... other than digital magazines and having to print them out. When a company stops printing a magazine, the paper ones sitll exist. The digitals go off into the ether. Some things just don't lend themselves well to digital just as monographs, but I digress. One of the current trends in the web is to lock out printing out of pages or documents. Not sure I like that either. i do understand piracy concerns but there's something about having a copy handy when you need it and the website is gone.

    The print magazines started having issues about 20 years ago (not just the speciality mags) but I think the WWW will be killing the rest off. Naturally, there will be exceptions, but even newspapers etc. are staring at this trend. They've all or will become road-kill on the Information Super Highway. Pity, IMO. There's something about holding paper with printing on it like a magazine or a book.
