  1. Thanks Mark! I appreciate your comment and wish you and Janet well for Christmas and 2016! Cheers Patrick
  2. Hi Nils Absolutely superb! There's gotta be a museum in Shleswig Holstein ready to take her off your hands! Have a great Christmas and 2016. Cheers Patrick
  3. Hey Pete Thank heavens for the snow! It gives us another day to enjoy your progress. She's looking really good! Cheers Patrick
  4. Nice work, Mark. If I was you, I'd be eagerly cutting the hull free from the base board...but then again, I'm sometimes not the most patient guy. All the best to you and Janet for Christmas and the New Year. Happy health to Janet as well! Cheers Patrick
  5. Hi Willie You're almost done! I've really enjoyed following along, especially watching your videos, so it'll be a shame to see your log end. I gotta admit though, she's looking like she's meant for business with that battering ram. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that. All the best for Christmas and 2016. Cheers Patrick
  6. Hi everyone and best wishes for Christmas and New Year!!! I've not been able to do much lately. However last night, I managed to do a bit more work on the mock up of the superstructure. This time, I used the actual shapes of the superstructure to get a better approximation of what she'll look like, as well as helping me to work things out better. Still lots of fun, to go. The photos below show a bit more of the beauty of the shape beginning to shine through. Also, for those of you who are watch lovers, the watch is a Ball HydroCarbon DeepQuest; a professional divers watch made out of a solid block of Titanium and rated to a depth of 10 000 feet (3000 metres)! Oh, by the way, for those in the US, 'Ball' is an American owned company, who build their watches in Switzerland. All the best! Patrick
  7. Hi Giorgio Nice. I especially love the middle photo as the angle it was taken from really shows off the beautiful lines of the hull. Cheers Patrick
  8. Hi Dimitris A very Merry Christmas and prosperous 2016 to you and your family as well! All the best Patrick
  9. Hi Matti Lovely work, especially the use of the oak stain to give the hull's planking the weathered look. Really, really nice. Cheers Patrick
  10. Hi Mehmet Very nice. I still can't quite get over how realistic she looks! Have a great Christmas and New Year. Cheers Patrick
  11. Congratulations Nils. A true museum quality masterpiece! Enjoy your Xmas and New Year. All the best Patrick
  12. Brilliant work on the interior, Kees!! She's going to look a real treat when finished. Have a great Xmas and New Year. Cheers Patrick
  13. Ahhhh! I must be really getting old...why didn't I realise that! I told you it was a stupid question.....
  14. Hi Mark I'm not having much luck searching for the "The Rope" website, but I did find a photo on Bob Riddoch's post (http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/1710-38th-the-rope-exhibition-tokyo-japan/) of the exhibition in 2013. Looks interesting. Cheers Patrick
  15. Hi Moxis I'm pushing my way in so that I can get a front row seat! I don't want to miss out on following along, so I'm pulling up my chair and popcorn. Cheers and all the best for Christmas and 2016. Patrick
  16. Hi Mark You've got me intrigued now! Did you get to peek a look at your pressie? Can you divulge? On the other hand, being an ex-Marine, you wouldn't have peeked, would you? Cheers Patrick
  17. Hey Pete Silly question time - how did you manage to stain the bulkheads without the stain running onto the planking? I know there's got to be a trick to it! All the best for Christmas and the New Year. Cheers Patrick
  18. Hi Ben There are two central staircases in the hull, but, you're right, at this scale, they'll be tiny. It may be just as easy to make each deck completely removable from the next. Still undecided, though. Great advice and greatly appreciated. All the best for Xmas and 2016! Cheers Patrick
  19. Hi Michael That's brilliant and many thanks for your excellent photos. They've got my mind ticking over now, that's for sure! Stay tuned. Cheers Patrick
  20. Hey Denis Brilliant job on those windows! Are you going to put a light inside the cabin? The netting would throw off some really nice reflections, I'm sure. Have a great Christmas and New Year! Cheers Patrick
