  1. Hi Mike Thanks, but Igor needs to take the credit for those great mugs. If I built them, they'd most likely leak! All the best Patrick
  2. Hi Matija I'm not sure where the error in the paint job is, but in my mind, she's looking pretty darn good. Love it, in fact! All the best Patrick
  3. Hah! Thanks Dave. I don't know if 'chuffed' is just Aussie slang, but it sounds like you got my drift anyway! I bet your poker buddies will look suitably impressed and confused when you use it tomorrow night. All the best Patrick
  4. Hi Mick Nice start! This is looking like she's going to have a beautiful hull, with really nice lines. I'll enjoy following this one, for sure. All the best. Patrick
  5. Hi Hartmut I haven't checked your build log for a few weeks now, but now that I have...wow! Very impressive. She's turning into one very beautifully detailed and characterful model. Look forward to more updates. Cheers and all the best! Patrick
  6. Hi Dave No matter what price she fetches, at least you can stand proud in the knowledge that all of the love and attention that you've put into the build has gone to a great cause. Well done and you should be feeling pretty chuffed now, I'm sure. All the best Patrick
  7. Hi Rob I'm not sure how, or why I've missed your buikd log, but I'm happy that I've caught up now. Your ship is one seriously nice model. I love the weathering and the level of detail that you've achieved. Vibe looks so real! Even more so is the fact that she is absolutely at home in the sea that you've displayed her in. If ok with you, I'd love to follow along! Cheers Patrick
  8. Hi Igor Those are some pretty amazing looking cups! I wouldn't have even attempted to do them, because knowing me, they'd probably come out square instead of round. How'd you manage to do such a good job making them? Cheers Patrick
  9. Hi Lawrence and Mick Many thanks for your compliments! Greatly appreciated as always. Lawrence - pls be rest assured....I'm learning heaps from your schooner as well; especially in terms of craftsmanship, skill and dedication to doing the very best possible. Pls keep it up, because I'm enjoying it immensly. Mike - pls don't learn a new language just for me. I'm grateful for your praise and recognition, regardless of whether it's in English or not! Many tanks! Cheers Patrick
  10. Good stuff, Igor. Thanks for the explanation. Will you be hinging the masts at the base as in other ship in bottle type models?
  11. Hi Vaddoc Brilliant stuff. It's great to reach the framing stage, because you can now start to see your hard work paying off now. Cheers and all the best Patrick
  12. Hi Igor The deckhouse looks pretty impressive. Nice, clean work. Is one of the masts in the second photo? Cheers Patrick
  13. Hi Tuffarts Now that would've been something to see. Unfortunately, it didn't stay in Perth for very long...! All the best Cheers Patrick
  14. Hi Matija I am perplexed! How come I totally missed this build log??? For some strange reason, I must've overlooked your beautiful Bluenose; but, at least I can say now that I've caught up. Without a doubt, you've done a magnificent job. The details and quality of your workmanship is outstanding, especially the winches. Impressive stuff. All the best Patrick
  15. Hi Igor Thanks. I've been using those same photos to build the interior of my version of Rainbow. Unfortunately, the real interior looks heaps better than anything I could ever do (sigh). Anyway...something to strive for. Loved the Americas Cup photo, too! Hope you're going well and am looking forward to a good weekend. Cheers Patrick
  16. Hi Jan She's looking pretty darn good! Wonderful crisp and clean work! Cheers Patrick
  17. Hi Igor I've found these photos, taken earlier, of the painting on the wall. If I can, I'll follow up on your suggestion to see what else I can put up on the bulkheads. The more, the better, as they'll add life and character to the interior. I hope you like them! Cheers Patrick
  18. Hi Altalena It's great to see you back in the shipyard, as well. Your ships' looking just brilliant now, which is a testament to your skills and workmanship. I definitely look forward to following your progress. All the best Patrick
  19. Hi Igor Yep. Good suggestion. I thought of that and there is actually a painting on the port (left) side of the main saloon. It can't really be seen from the angles of these photos, but it may be visible in one of the most recent posts. I'll try to take a better photo for you on the weekend. All the best and thanks! Patrick
  20. Hi everyone, especially Kevin, Lawrence, Piet, Michael and everyone who hit the Like button. I've added a bit more detail to the main saloon, including the main settee, some cabinetry including a full height cabinet and the saloon's formal dining table. Still more work to go, though. The latest photos are as follows. Hope you like them! All the best Patrick
