  1. Ab, thank you, this is an incredible amount of information. I will attempt to open it shortly on Rhino and see what it does. I will keep you updated on the progress. Thank you again, JJ
  2. Thank you Ab, I would be very interested in developing project of a Dutch ship from this period. One question and perhaps it’s my own mistake, as I looked through your PDF on my phone, but I didn’t happen to catch the names of any of the vessels you have modeled, am I missing something? Thank you, JJ
  3. I’m curious now if this has anything to do her time spent on the bottom for so many years or if this is as built. I will need to dig into my library again and do some reading.
  4. Beautiful work Ab, the paintings belong in a museum. It would be wonderful if this was published but I understand why you are not moving forward. Do you have any plans for the featured ships? I’ve always been fascinated by Dutch warships from this period and would love to build one. JJ
  5. Rusty, you could also wipe them with alcohol which will reveal the color of the wood with WOP applied, the alcohol will evaporate quickly and not harm the wood. Nevertheless, your choice of wood and the finished colors of your deck look great!
  6. Your cheerful look very good Fred. Well done. Looking forward to when you resume work on your Winnie.
  7. Welcome to MSW from yet another fellow Oregonian! From what part of the state are you?
  8. Take care and get well soon Bob, your Winnie will be there waiting for you.
  9. Mike, your Agamemnon look just fantastic! Well done! I’ll have to go over and throughly go through your log As far as the false keel on your Winnie, if I remember right I only had one piece as well. I’m pretty sure I just Milled them according to the drawings.I think I even just ran the waste trees from the parts through my saw for the wood, it already had the char on it so it worked out well. Looks like you’re off to a good start. JJ
  10. Excellent work Rusty! Every time I see you Winnie, I wish I did mine in cherry as well. Looks awesome!
  11. Well done Fred, she’s looking great. I wouldn’t paint that windlass either!
  12. Perhaps you could start with a much wider plank, ( I assume the plank you need is the one traced out in pen?) get it shaped and fit, then sand to the appropriate width/shape? Or you could laminate two or three thin planks and take care to finish them so there are no seams visible. Good luck whichever route you take, the model is looking excellent.
  13. Thank you, I’m going to have to try this, I’ve always liked this aged look.
  14. Just outstanding work! I love the blackening/wearing process you use. How do you achieve those results so well? JJ
