  1. I clicked on the link and got the sale pop-up on their website. Calipers of high grade!
  2. Rob, your progress is fantastic. At this scale some details are hard to create, you have done a great job!
  3. Cap'n Snack, Warm . The kit you have chosen seems like a very nice kit including the PE. At 75 dollars and free shipping from Amazon it seems to be a nice deal.
  4. Henke, that is very beautiful coppering work you have done. Doesn't it feel good to be back at the yard?
  5. Daniel, a big and warm welcome to MSW. Having the experience of building plastic kits are very helpful as you already have the eye for details. Building a wooden model is different since there are hardly any pre-made parts. However the choice with Polaris is a great start to give you all needed experience to move on. I am looking forward to your build log. Welcome to MSW!
  6. The Terror is a magnificent ship, I will follow that build along as well. Nice finish of Lady Nelson.
  7. Nice catch, even though you had made a nice stove already. But there is nothing more we like to do, but to do it again.😄
  8. HMS Hood, I remember when I built her as an Airfix model but much much smaller size..... back in the 70's This build is one I am looking forward to.
  9. Clark, A warm and "smoky" . Glad to see another Washingtonian becoming a member of our great group. As you also see I live about 1h 45minutes away. Happy modeling to you!
  10. A/C units can be tricky before you figure them out. I have consulted with my Admiral to section of part of a part of the garage/workshop with a real interior wall so I can create a secluded shop that has a stable temperature and humidity. The size of the shop will be 23x10ft. This raised from the 6 inches from the floor.
  11. At what temp are you baking the rope? And for how long? Placed my rope rocket order last Tuesday.
  12. Since I am into music I found this Youtube by accident. This guy seems to be making custom guitars but once again happy.
  13. I have been finding reviews of the Byrnes table saw over and over again. One of our member has recently posted this one. It surely convinced me to buy the saw! Thank you Olha for a fantastic demo!
  14. You should be able to upload the pictures from your phone gallery to a build log, no matter your type of phone.
  15. Olha, Now this is not fair! lol With your skills you make it look so effortless. I definitely need to get my soldering skills to improve. I agree with Ryland, I enjoy watching your build log videos. Stunning work.
  16. Tom, very nice build of the St Roch. I do understand your frustration with planking this as BB's instruction leaves out a lot of information of how to do. Glad to see pictures of the real one too. Which model of Bowers & Wilkins speakers do you have?
  17. Tom As for compressor - buy one with a tank, having the tank will provide you a constant pressure of air flow, as for brand it's not so necessary to buy a "brand name". Now for the airbrushes, three of the top notch name are Badger, Iawata and Paschee. Here is the general consensus - higher price tag better quality and performance. Look at our sponsor USA Airbrush Supply, this should give you an indication of what to go for even in the UK. Good luck with your selection. I am using a generic compressor without tank with Iawata and Paschee airbrushes.
  18. Creating the skylights involved a lot of light hand work. I used my shaver type blade of saw, cut down into the frame work and added the brass strings. I used a tine spot of CA to glue them into place. The strings doesn't look straight in close up, The Proxxon vise became handy here, once glued I used the vise and pressed all the strings into place. After hand the brass strings looks over-dimensioned. At least at close up. From a distance it isn't to bad.
  19. Did a try with soft plastic and CA with wood. I am surprised! It sticks! I did my trial with the type of soft plastic covering containers from the bakery of your store. Now here is the question: What type of blue to use? I am using Vallejo paint, and have several blues. Guess a sample plate with all the blue has to be done. The blue appears different on clear plastic versus wood.
  20. There are great acrylic primers as well. However, I used Rustoleum white primer on my Bluenose before airbrushing with Vallejo paint. No problem for me. Yes, the primer gave the surface the feeling of a fine sandy beach, but after using a 400 grit sandpaper the surface was good for painting.
  21. I have the answer for you, according to page one of the instructions those number are related to deck frame numbers.
  22. This is looking so good, makes me miss Sweden and the archipelago. Following with sincere interest.
