  1. What I understand, it is still an "unidentified object" or UDO as I would call it.... "unidentified deck object". I don't think we have got the explanation to it.... Maybe there is, and it just passed me by..
  2. At the bottom "About us" some company by the name "Excellence model kits S.L.U" is mentioned, but searching for that name provides nothing. But both facebook and artesanialatina.net are functional. Since the cover page is showing Test page and the very bottom read 2020, well I think they are back.
  3. Olha, Don't know if Bing translator did a good job or not. Дивовижна збірка! Любов вони, як дошка просто впав на місце без будь-яких зусиль. Бажаю, щоб моя дошка була такою простою. In English, Amazing build! Love they way the planking just fell into place without any effort. Wish my planking was that simple.
  4. Nick, By curiosity, who are the designer of the models BlueJacket are selling? I have an old C.S.S Virginia model in box from your company. Bought on Ebay. Nice whaleboat!
  5. Hmm, why is that I recognize that...... Do we have a common nearby, a person whose first name starts with an F? Didn't you snag The Agamemnon kit from him?
  6. I have the s/n in the sail of my RC yacht, There are some differences but in general a number I the sail is like a Id-card, related to manufacturers and number of built units. The numbers follows the boat and can't be changed. That's what I just on an official sailing site.
  7. Those sales are a problem...… lol,
  8. Peter, I just finished reading through your log and enjoyed what you did. So, that's why your little notification marker will show quite some likes. Here's some information about Footy for those who doesn't know about her The Footy is an international RC class, here in the USA class approved by AMYA (America Model Yacht Association). The name is for the length: 1ft Here's a partial quote from AMYA; "A Footy class boat must fit in a box 12"L X 12"D X 6"W. Primary rig configuration is unlimited. Radio control is two channels only. Several different hull designs have been developed, and Footys have been built with lateen rigs, gaff rigs, swing rigs, and genoa jibs. The small size makes scratch building fun, but full kits, partial kits, and plans are available for less ambitious skippers. A Footy is a great boat for all anyone. A competitive Footy can be built for less than $100, is easily portable, and regattas can be held in the smallest of ponds; even in your backyard swimming pool!" I know you will enjoy sailing her, RC sailing is quiet and clean for the environment.
  9. , Kevin, I know you will enjoy the build and there are people here to help out if/when you are running problem. This forum is made for questions and answers, a way to support each other throughout a build process.
  10. The last rendering is even better, looks like oil on canvas. I have done rendering in SUPodium and Fusion360, but never done a rendering like yours. How long time did it take to process it all? And I like the boat in far distance. Great skills.
  11. Answering my own question as I didn't read the title 100%. It's the Blender software.
  12. Very nice! I better get going with my kits! So I can start a new project.
  13. Thank you Kurt, I found some interesting kits on their website...… but I guess I better finish what I have in my "shipyard" waiting for attention, before dropping the anchor (instead of pulling the trigger) for one of their kits.
  14. I stumbled over this manufacturer located in the US, in Tennesse to be exact. The name is Iron Shipwrights and they seem to make very nice resin kits, most of them are coming with PE parts (no need to buy other sets). Just wondering if anyone has experience with their products?
  15. Just amazing and beautiful rendering, what software did you use?
  16. Wayne, first of all, a warm , As for card models, they are great as you don't need much of tools. Just make sure the scissor and knife are super-sharp, because it will be necessary. Start a build log - with pictures and text. She will be an interesting build I like to follow. I placed an order the other day from JSC and their communication service is outstanding. My order was shipped out today, Tuesday 30. Am looking forward to do some "carding".
  17. I have used a Festool vac at a Woodcraft location, I truly want one! They are quiet and very efficient! And the hose is so very flexible. Here is a link to them. https://www.woodcraft.com/products/dust-extractor-ct-15-e-hepa-festool?via=573621bd69702d0676000002%2C576455d369702d2f2f0013a2%2C5764562a69702d2f2f0013a6
  18. Perfect! Those pads are great to use. But they have to be cleaned, still easy to scratch the surface if they have any dirt on them. Oh btw, let the paint cure for at least 72 hours before any buffing commence.
  19. Thank you Bill and Louie, for stepping up and helping with good recommendations when it comes the restoration. It's not easy when seeing the ship only by pictures. This is what Modelshipworld is about.
  20. Outstanding paintjob! To buff the painted area use 6000 grit and water then with feather weight pressure get that shine!
  21. Hi Ric, and a warm welcome to MSW. Syren as mentioned is probably one of the more popular models to build. I also have one going.
  22. Lou, I am using ACDsee Video Studio to create the time lapse. It's fun and also takes you through the build in another way. But building it in 47 seconds..... not really rather 7 days, including long breaks.😄
  23. Hope this will work, this is a time lapse build of the metal earths USS Arizona. Small parts and tricky but I got the last parts together last night at 2am. Here's a penny in front of the finished model. USS Arizona timelapse.mp4
  24. Oh my, that's coming together very nicely. You really got the crew to look natural.
