@ Ferit,

I think that you see what i have done.

And that was before Mobbsie was posting !

Thanks !!!!!

@ Mobbsie,

When 2 people separate saying the same thing ( or you two makes a agreement ) that I have to trimmed the treads, who am I then not doing it ?

But you and Anja are right, it looks much better !

And do you see that spiderweb over there? Popeye is inside with his popcorn  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Augie,

You put the finger on the right spot !

I just have make the shrouds….now the lanyards and then…..ratlines again  :D  :D

@ Aldo,

Practicing makes power  :P  :P  :P  :P

When i look at the first ratlines that I have make and the last one, there is a big difference !

But I just let it this way.

To do everything again, is to much…..

@ patrick,

Yes, when I finished those I go to the yards/spars.

First i have to make them…..

Now comes a funny part…they give me the length of the yards but not how much it must be at the end….

So I think I get the manual from the SI and see what they are saying over there.

Just love Corel plans !!! ( nope )

@ Mick,

That's a mouth full…...

So let me see,

No,

No,

Yes,

Yes  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Popeye,

She is standing on the floor at the second floor corridor.

There is nothing in the way.

The rest of the stays I will do it when I place the yards/spars ...

Then I can see where everything goes.

Sharp eye that you see that the stays are not tight.

I know that.

When I'm a little further, I tie them up again ( for the third time )

The plans are showing me something but not clear.

So i have to look at other Mirage builds that I found on the internet.

Now I have blue fingertips and thank you all for looking in and the nice words  :D

Sjors, I don't think any company has made a perfect set of plans just yet. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm sure you'll get through it just fine though. Your work is always top-notch!

no need to tie them up again........let the back stays do the work :D    your right on track.......keep going! ^_^ ^_^

@ Patrick,

I know that every plan has his difficulties but this is really bad.

From the start of the build till now it's a jigsaw.

You get a piece and have to see where it goes or not.

You give me to much credits.

I want to do it better but that is not always possible.

When you look at the build closely, you see a lot of mistakes.

I can hide it but I know it.

I was talking with Mobbsie yesterday about it and I say to him...

I can take pictures from a long distance ,then it looks good but don't come closer !

But thanks anyway !

I consider this ship as a learning ship.

I learn every time new things..specially on the rigging.

I can use that at the San Ildefonso and the Aggy.

So each build goes better.

And is that not the reason that we keep on building?

You want to improve your self every time, do it better, cleaner and make it looks good.

But not only from a distance, but also close by.

@ Ferit,

Thanks !!!!!!

@ Popeye,

I shall listen to your advice and wait a little longer to fix it  :D  :D

Wow Sjors, your mouse lines are stunning!

@ Piet,

Thanks

You can call it mouses if you like…..

I don't expect something different from a old Dutchman   :D   :D   :D

Thanks Sjors, they are so small so they must be for mice not rats  ;)  There are a few words you never, never use to an old person. one of then is old, others are Ambulance, death or dead, grave and undertaker, casket is really bad, then there are hospital, doctor, sick, but nurses are okay though, they are soft and cuddly  :D  :D  :D  :P  :P

BTW, your "learning" ship is looking magnificent from here  ;)  ;)  ;) , no really, she's looking great.

Hey John Texxn5, where in St. Augustine are you staying?  I live only 25 miles south of where you are.  Any chance of meeting up this week?  You can then see my builds.  Give a jingle  386 569 0018

@Adriaan,

Yes there are for sales.

I have to make to yards/spars on the bowsprit.

I think that the Sovereign of the seas has that also.

There are coming shrouds and ratlines also on it…. ( a few more to do )

@ Piet,

You have a nice way to saying things  :D  :D

I shall never call you an old man youngster…….. :P

Thanks for the comment on my "learning" ship.

For a while it is over with ratlines….till I'm at the part of the bowsprit  :D

The shrouds and ratlines on the top gallant mast in and top gallant  mizzen mast are done !

First some cleaning in the workroom and then to the yards/spars.

Another fine job…...

I was checking the dowels for the masts and I'll be missing some 8 mm and 6 mm and I found out that one dowel of 5 mm have a crack in it  :(  :(  :(

8 mm for the yards….that's thick !

So I have to see if i can found it this weekend otherwise …..go back to the SI .

@ Jim,

You have seen it correctly.

That's the box from the Aggy.

I jus keep her where I can see her…..and drooling a little  :)

I have found the dowels….

I was cleaning the room this morning and put all the wood from the kit that is not used, into a vase…..

I turn the vase upside down and there it was…….the dowel of 8 mm……..

So I can go on with the tapering , tomorrow !

Hello Sjors, well, today we got to meet one of your fellow Dutchmen....and his lovely Admiral.  We met with Piet and Gwen, and bent an elbow of fine Belgium Ale and exchanged sea stories...(or air stories in Piet's case).  Had a wonderful time and learned a lot of WWII history.  His story is remarkable.   His 0-19 is truly a work of art and I feel honored to have been able to see it and understand it's story.  Quite an expierience and only through MSW could this have been possible.  Once again the power of this Forum shines through.

Sjors, looking really good my friend, really really good!

I am sure I am going to ask this of a few folks but HOW do you do the ratlines?  I see so many of you guys have done them and I just can't wrap my head around how you get them so good looking.   I know I will have to do the eventually, and just start to get a bit of anxiety thinking of it.

We need some of you guys to do a tutorial video or something on how you do that!!
