You are doing a terrific job on this model!  I recently won one on eBay for under $200.00, and your thread will be sort of a bible for me.  I do have one question.  Can anyone here elaborate on the historical accuracy of this ship?  I have read that it is more of a composite of Dutch design, but I have seen far too many paintings of very similar Dutch designs.  One of those paintings shows a Dutch 80 gun ship named Vest Friesland that shows a very similar ship to the model. The painting dates from the middle 1700s.  I'm wondering if the model represents that ship.

Hello, i am happy you like the build, thank you OC, David, Bill for nice comments! Bill, i do not know much about this ship history, i know it was sister ship of Zeven Provinzien. I did not see Vest Friesland picture, but i did read about it somewhere. Can you post picture of it?

Work going on slowly on the lanterns, was working on the deadeyes too. Kit supply not all deadeye holders of brass wire, i will have to make them my own. Sill need to get right wire for it. Few photos this week work.

Thank you Bob, Don, appreciate that. Finished work on the lanterns, it is 10 mm hight, i did what it is possible for me to make it more real, still think to make wood holders for them. While it is winter few frozen sea moments, lights are working now.

Hi, thank you for your generous comments! Oc, winter is hitting hard here, can enjoy a lot of snow! Slowly working on ship masts, created front mast with working lantern, all wires are hidden. Few photos.

Thank you Richard! I really like the way lanterns looks on the boat! Today was the day i raised forecastle mast, it looks so tall. Painted little pins, placed on the boat. Thought the kit is missing few pins, i will make them from scratch later on. Few photos.

Zappto:

Really cool with the lamps.  Where did you run the wires down the mast?

Hi all, my work slowly going on. This week i was creating second mast. It is really precise work, few times i cut wires to short, so had to redo it all! But after some work, lights are shining! Few photos of my fun.
