Shes certainly not for the purist of Royalist hearts but this particular bird has clipped wings and a big ol’ American hunk of Pratt & Whitney iron hanging off the nose in place of the sleeve valve Bristol Centaurus. She’ll have cast brass gear legs because she already weighs well on to 2 lbs. I just had a very good friend of mine cast me four sets of P&W kits for Sea Furies, so I can make several racers. I had asked and received permission from a friend of mine, Paul Fisher, who mastered the original patterns. All his stuff was lost in a California wildfire that took out the entire City of Paradise a few years back. OC. I’d build it. I love transports. And WW1 stuff, especially RNAS. I have a few Russian transports as well. I try to stay away from common stuff so not many Spittys, Mustangs, or 109s in my future, except Spanish, Israeli, and Swiss 109s Id say a big C-5 might come. We’ve already got a 1/72 An-124 and they just released the An-225 in 1/72. That thing is insane. Almost a six foot wing in 1/72. Resin fanatic, huh? A lot of my freight cars are in resin. I've got a few very old Funaro kits cast in a yellow resin; very brittle stuff. I destroyed a car floor, trying to drill locating holes. Replaced it with styrene sheet and strip stick. I cut my teeth on F&C X29 boxcars, and some of the 32 pattern as well. Back in the days before Museum quality ready to run freight cars, the only way to a proper 40s-50s freight car roster was to build them yourselves. Yellow resin (pre white resin) Funaro cars. You look at them the wrong way and they shatter... As a CP in New England modeler, I built the heck out of the F&C Big Otis kits as well. No coaling road would be complete without them. Remember the Sylvan wood caboose kits? The white metal bolsters were so warped I carved them from wood and laid lead on the floors instead. I do remember the Sylvan cars, sounds bad, I only have a few of his vehicles, fire trucks and trailers, mostly. Not so bad, but I'm not a fan of white resin. Ever build an early Westerfield car; metal filledgray polyester resin. I should have had stock in the drill bit makers.The gray styro-resin is great to work with. I built one of the G.lVs and traded away the late Felix. Given present circumstances, I’m glad I bought WNW. I got caught short when some went OOP, so I bought a few of each for different schemes. All I’d be likely to build. They were a real bargain back in the day. Not so much anymore I have pretty much everything HPH did in 1/32 including the C-47 and PBY. Plus L-29, L-39, F7F, Sea Hornet, Me-410, MiG-15, 3x P-63 and others. In 1/72, have most of the Russian passenger jets as well. Watch for guys who bought the Duelist set for the W.29. They often dump the Felix for cheap. Of course, with Wingnuts going under, who knows now. The G.lV is going to be tough.
