Thank you for your really nice and supporting words, my friends

Mainly, all goes well, just as I have planned.  As you probably remember, I made several serious mistakes at the beginning (lost hull and deck lines and position). On some way, I just do not know how, I succeed to eliminate those mistakes in outer view to my model, at least, I can not see them looking Her Majesty from outside

But in the main deck, situation is quite different, and deck railings are not parallel to deck. How works on the model are progressing, it seems that my decision to overload decks with hyper detailed parts - to visually mask mistakes, was a right one

For now, considering that aft and fore decks are almost done with all elements on their place, the most difficult constructive challenges on main deck are also done, so I can be quite relaxed, making remaining elements

Next picture present current state of works on main deck

now.thumb.jpg.45cff4fe46767e4d4274f244598e864d.jpg

So, my plan is to make them all, then to glue them all on their places, than to make tinny net fences on fore and aft deck railings

 1556438995_net1.thumb.JPG.f7d5781153e88aabfbd8d29c9a394663.JPG29921746_net2.jpg.0421f47d0c3ab3d73a3b741258654872.jpg

Then I plan to correct eventually colour mistakes, and then, finally to go to the next stage - masts and yards. Sure, there will be a grand dust cleaning works before Her Majesty moved to one of child rooms where is no dust

Having in mind the speed of my works, it will be almost OK if I reach that phase at the autumn this year

Again, thank you all for watching

As you can see, Orthodox cristmas was on Sunday, april 27th, monday was holliday day, few days after two holliday days for may 1th, and begin with friday april 25th until tomorrow may 6th, I was on some kind of miny vacation. Even I want to work my regular job, I don`t have no client here, everybody connect this days and went somewhere. From some reasons, I was not planing to travell somewhere for couple of days, so, there was a plenty of time for Her Majesty, and works are progressing significantly

Next on list, to fullfil deck content, are different spare yards, boat masts, jards for studd-sails ...

Their number and position on the main deck and on deck  houses was reconstructed following Campbell plans and photos I collected all this years, and presented on drawing in upper post

Material - barbeque bamboo sticks

For this purpose, to stand on deck or deck houses, making of them is easy. Just put bambo stick in dremell and use sandpaper.  Yards for sails will be considerably higher bite, having in mind all fittings and their construction

So, let it be

On Julay 7th, there are exactly 6 years from starting this lazy building log ... a bit of shame on me ...

Yes, I am still here, with my day cutted of for additional 12 hours I need to do everything I need and want

Slowly approach to court hollidays, to my summer vacation, and I hope to find a time to continue to the stage of build which is most interesting (masts yards etc etc)

In men time, working, keeping my house in shape, garden works, take care of Rhea -  the home queen, doing some side projects (painting with acryl on canvas) and ... hehe ... spend some time with one beautiful lady ... as I said, 24h are veeeeery short

See you soon with some progress

All the best for you all

Great progress. You mentioned netting with a photo above, suspect the netting of today is for child and pet safety, there for insurance purposes. The railings and Bullworks should suffice for a working cargo ship and did not exist in her working years. Have admired your progress through one wreck after another with the model and your life, it has made you into a fine modeler with unique skills, patience and empathy for others, proud of you.

Hey Jud

Thank you my friend for very kind words

He he … there is something as it is said ... "monkey see monkey do!" . There are so many interesting things in this world, which from time to time, almost continuously take my attention, so I have million of hobbies (modeling, guitar, painting, photography, writing and publishing short stories on FB, cooking, gardening, traveling, visiting old places, collecting and listening music, research history, reading books, visiting museums theaters opera ballet cinemas exhibitions concerts, etc. etc.) so my day is short for everything I want and everything I have to do for living, including my job, very close family relations particularly with Hothead and Princess, social life with many friends, and of course, my private emotional life …

So, Her Majesty has to be patient and to wait for me

About netting

I think I used unappropriated word. I agree that netting was not in use in Her working years.

But safety fence? There are some old photos where are fences on fore and aft deck are presented, also on Campbell`s plans

So, considering my deccission to make model designated only to stay in my living room, which will be some kind of mix between C-plans and photos of details at present day, combining with details from Lou`s photos, with all sails spreaded, this is it

Almost same story as ancient fortress here in Belgrade, named Kalemegdan fortress, which was destroyed and rebuilded more than 20 times in more than 2000 years of it`s history … where you can find remains of walls and structure from Roman empire time, midlle age time, Turkish time, etc etc. Onde day I was speaking with custos of museum and asked him -  why you do not reconstruct a whole fortress? And he said - And in wish period exactly to reconstruct? Same thing. To admit, I am not passioned in that way to research and reconstruct Her Majesty exactly to one period of her long life. I enjoy in working on Her, and I will enjoy in her look when she will be finished one day

Thanky you again for your very kind words and wishes

Nenad

Right now, considering that I am pretty close to mast/yards/sails/ropes stage, this speeds up me and runs to finish deck contents

So, here is a little step toward Boat Davits

Thank you, my friend.

Just playing, and make stop on point where it become hard to see difference between real masterwork and optimal work

Ring holders, for example, can be made more precise and more clean, but it is only 1mm wide detail, so ... who could ever see that?

I don't recall, if you are aware,  but some of the images you posted are of the Ferreira... and when the Portuguese got a hold of the Cutty Sark they did some serious mods....like adding that access on the aft poop deck house by the helm.  (To name just one of many)

Are you going to model her with all the mods or are you staying true to her original configuration?

Hello, Rob

Having in mind that I make Her for two reasons

1. To enjoy working on her

2. To put Her in my living room when finish

without any idea to show Her anywhere or to sell Her

I decided to combine elements from Campbell plans with present stage I see on photos, with some details from Lou's set of b/w photos

Also, considering several really big and important mistakes I wrote earlier in log, I found only way to get out from mud - to hyper detail Her, to mask my mistakes

I know it is not accurate approach, but this is it

I silently  follow all  your work with great attention!

Thank you for your interest

without any idea to show Her anywhere or to sell Her

I decided to combine elements from Campbell plans with present stage I see on photos, with some details from Lou's set of b/w photos

Also, considering several really big and important mistakes I wrote earlier in log, I found only way to get out from mud - to hyper detail Her, to mask my mistakes

I know it is not accurate approach, but this is it

I silently  follow all  your work with great attention!

Thank you for your interest

I was with you when you began this log...you've overcome many obstacles and recovered very well.  It is very rewarding to know you are building her for your own personal enjoyment...that is the most important thing.  Keep up the great work.

Thanks for your fine comments as well.

Rob

Body is made from BQ stiks, holder from Cu foil

I was too much ambitious wishing to add some more details, until I saw how small it is

You have become a master of tiny parts.  My eyes cross just thinking of doing something that small and that well.
