Yes, I copied Javlin's jig, doesn't look as nice as his but it works.

Small update: Installed wheels and snow skis plus some minor parts. After the catastrophe with the nose cone and repairs and readied weights, it is a tad bit tail heavy, more so if the skis were not installed.  Applied a Liquitex Gloss Acrylic medium to the black and red surfaces to seal them before a coat of Pledge to the whole model prior to applying the decals.

Good save on this model, Jack. Gloss colors are not easy, especially if applied by brush.

That is why Killer Bees and Killer Hornets have not been found north of the Canadian border!  Those mosquitos are big enough that when they land on you they pin your arms down and suck you dry. Just for fun they like to hop onto the biggest Moose they can find and ride him through the woods looking for a tourist to trample.

That window strip is one continuous decal with clear areas where the windows fall. Very tricky to install, especially going under the wing and getting it aligned.

I think when the Herkys got into their gunship role , their callsign was Spectre. The USAF started with Puff the Magic Dragon aka Spooky AC-47s, then went into AC-119s, which I forgot their callsign. Pretty impressive when they were firing their  20s and 40s.  Lots of tracer rounds. And then they'd unlimber their 105s, off the tail ramp. 😲

I agree with Ken OC. Although Spooky may have been used somewhere for the AC130, I cannot remember it being used by anyone in the field The AC 47s were always "Spooky" and the 130s "Specters". I think the AC119s were called "Shadows" but I never saw one of them light up the night. I don't think there were that many of them.

I see Lou  - Ken.    perhaps its a  name that been mixed up over time due to some of the nose art on some like Ghost Rider  - generating the name  amongst aircraft nuts,   still a  gorgeoes plane though.

Here's the gen on gunship history: https://www.airforcemag.com/article/0499gunships/

Spectre was the callsign in Nam. Currently they are Ghostriders, with numerous weapons improvements The Dollar 19(C-119) was using the Stinger callsign, I believe, but may have had others.

Folks in the Sandbox appreciate having a Ghostrider hanging up over top of their locations, for obvious reasons. Very effective weapons system.

AC-47 Spooky, AC-119G Shadow, AC-119K Spectre, and AC-130 Spectre....

Those are the nicknames that were given the aircrafts when they were converted into ground support gunships Over time they have pretty much became interchangeable... The official name today is Spectre....

Yeah they used various callsigns.... sometimes the callsigns became nicknames sometimes not....

Whatever you call them, yes, they were very effective aircraft and a devastating weapons system...
