HMS Agamemnon by Sjors - FINISHED - Caldercraft/Jotika - 1:64

Recommended Posts

Sjors, your planking is moving right along. It's all looking good and I'm sure it'll shape up great at the stern. All those cannons are frightening  :o . Like Frank was saying, some might think you were getting ready for some hostile actions.  ;)

Thanks Doris....

From a lady master of you it make me

And then I mean that you are saying.......craftmanship !

I'm just playing with wood but what you re doing with paper and clay THAT'S crafmanship !( or is it craft ladyship ?)

Thank you, dear Sjors. I admire people, who can make ship models of wood. I have a considerable respect before this artistry.

The word "craftmanship" or "craftsmanship"  - well I am not good at English and my PC translator always correct it and add a letter "s".  I am not sure, whether it is correct.

But it is important we understand each other. :)

Kind regards

It doesn't metter Doris.

I have the same problem with mine translations....

But the people on this forum knows that we are doing our best with the translation.

If there is a word not correct, so be it.

But we all speak the same langue about modelling  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Update time.....

I have now make 2 planks with the strange bend......

I think that this is the meaning.

If not, please tell me !

I have also go from the keel upwards....

Still a few more planks to go !

Hi Sjors,

This bend is positively the hardest part of both planking's and I must say your doing a very good job. :)  :) :)

Now's the time to start trimming the remainder of the planks to fit the stern counter mate, believe me you will soon get into trouble if you don't. :piratetongueor4:  :piratetongueor4:

Speak to you later

Hi Sjors,

It may be the camera angle but in that last shot it looks like the right hand planks are further towards the keel compared to the other side, in other words not symmetrical. Are you painting/coppering the bottom? If so it shouldn't cause a problem.

Wow Ben,

Are you looking with a magnifier ????

You are right.

It's not symmetrical.

But it's gonna have another layer of planking and then It's gonna be coppered.

So you don't see a thing anymore after that.

But thanks for looking so carefully ! :D  :D  :D  :D

Those stern bends sure look tricky Sjors. Looks like you've got it covered though. Progressing nicely.

So you finally incurred the wrath of BEN !  Consider yourself lucky......it's his log I'm following for my Confed build so I know he's out there.  Makes me do everything about 12 times before I update :) .  But seriously, always good to have another set of eyes on board.

Thanks Grant,

I'm happy as it goes at the moment.

But I'll be more happy when the hull is closed :D  :D

Then I can clean the workshop again after all the sanding....

I know Augie and I like it when someone looks close to the build and give there comment.

That's only helpful !

So please Ben, give your comment !!!!!!
