Woh... having just joined the forums I thought I would take a look at what is achievable with patience and a keen eye for perfection, this is just amazing, I am starting out on a few small boats to try and learn as much as I can as I saw this model a few months ago and told myself I would do something like this one day. That day may be a few years away yet, but what a fantastic looking ship you are creating. I do not think I have ever spent Two hours reading a thread from start to finish before, really looking forwards to seeing how this lady looks once finished. Thanks for the posting, really has given me some inspiration as to what to aim for one day.

Hello Telp ( is that your name ? )

Thanks for the nice words....

I'm almost

Why should it take a few years to build such model ?

Some are doing it as the first model.....

But ok, I don't know your skills but I think every one can handle it.

Just take the time and read the manuel and drawing carefully !

( that's something I still have to learn )

Do you have a build log where I can look ???

Hi sjors, my name is Terry, just used the Telp one as it is easier to remember. I have opened a build thread which I will now start to work with on Sunday, need to do a few photos as the longboat is three quarters finished, I just tried to do as much as possible to test my limits, I am going to give the pickle a go for my next build and I will start a build log proper for that one. I think the beauty of this hobby is seeing how people get through difficult phases, best wishes.

Hi Terry,

When I'm finished working tomorrow I will take a look ( if I can find you )

I'm curious about the longboat and will follow you on the pickle.....( never hear of it )

Tomorrow another day with another task......

Very nice work Sjors,

Can you point out what they are and where, please?

Cheer,

Mouse(s) are a small pearlike shaped things that go on the stays near the masts, and that prevent the stay from choking.

Snakes are thin threads that go zigzag between the upper and lower stays.

(I wish I had some photos of this, but they can be seen in Sjor's last photo above)

Nice "patas de cuervo" in Spanish. Crow=cuervo,  feet = pies in humans, patas in animals. :)

Sjors your ship is looking great. I have a question about rigging your ship. I have never rigged a ship and was wondering if you ever have a problem with let's say tensioning one length of string or rope and it causes another to lose tension. How do you keep them all tight? Thanks
