Guess what......

Someone put signs for me to find the way to the hobby room........

And I find it !!!!!!!!!

Love the smell of a new hobby room with stuff and a model somewhere  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

I did something......yippie !!!!!!!!

I finished the gunport lids on the starboard side and make also the chainplates.

The chainplate that comes close to the bow have also the deadeyes.

Strange system to attach those deadeyes.......

I think that it is better to place the deadeyes first before I attach the chainplate to the hull ?

Maybe someone can shine a light for me on that ????????

That should be then for the port side and the other builds in the future..........

Nice work Sjors,

looks like you have grooved yourself in again, at least after those fine looking gunport lids. I know you can do super rigging, we all know from  your other ships, and this large beautiful  frigate will in due time probably be your masterpiece.....

At least you found the hobby room and not the laundry room.  Which is good. ;)  :D  :D

Looking good on the deadeyes and chainplates.  Try putting one chainplate/deadeye together and see how it fits is all I can offer on suggestions.

Thanks all and also for the likes !

@ Nils,

Rigging is still far and far away !!!!

I'm still struggling with the rudder and keep that moving forward all the time.......

@ Bug and George,

Thank you  :D  :D  :D

@ Frank,

Also thanks and......I love my new hobby room  :D  :D

Anja has her own hobby room in this house......the kitchen  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Sam,

No need to be jealous .

I have to keep it clean from the Admiral and you know it.....the woman is the boss in the house.

( maybe she is now not so angry when she read the answer to Frank )

@ Bob,

Thanks and also a welcome back for you .

You have found your internet again  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Mark.

The hobby room is next to the laundry room so a mistake is very easy.

And yes, there is also the iron.

I think that was a hint from Anja when there is laundry over there....pfffffffffffff

And thanks for the tip.

You give me one  :D  :D

@ Grant,

Thank you !!!!!!

No update today but a reminder for myself.....

Read the drawings twice before you do something !!!!!!!!!

When I placed the deadeyes I did not take a good look at the drawing and find something out when I was finished......

I have taken some wrong size of deadeyes

I nees smaller ones then what i have used.

Not all of them but the smaller ones.

So I have change that and now I have to put back the chains......

First job for tomorrow.

Then I can go to the other side and do it straight away right !

So .....read twice and do it once !!!!!!!!!

I know I'm not the first who is doing this and I know for sure I'll be not the last !!!!!!!!

Something like this happened to me with the deadeyes in the mast tops of my Vasa. No one has noticed so far. ;)

There aren't but two options: do it FAST, or do it RIGHT.

Then we have both problems with reading the plans  :D  :D  :D

The only thing is that I see it by myself and I have time enough to change it.

With other words....it is done  :D  :D

The other chainplates with the deadeyes are also done and has to wait till I have finished the gun port lids before I can attach them to the hull.

And Mark ?

Thanks for the tip.

It works to place them on the chainplate when they are not at the hull.

All the chains, chainplates and deadeyes are on at both sides.

Because I have to paint a few things that was damaged on the way, I thought I will do something different.......

I have started the journey with the rudder.........

I put the pindels on and hanging the rudder on to the hull.

I think ( in my opinion ) it's not to bad !

One can go a little higher ( if I can remove it )

Otherwise I will keep it this way.

Now I have to make the brackets ?

Those things what goes on the rudder and on the hull.

Another funny job ! (nope )
