  1. Sounds like a lot of research and planning going on, but I know you'll come up with a workable plan in no time.
  2. She looks splendid John. Nice job on the scratch-repair. Gonna put her in the gallery?
  3. Bummer that idea didn't work Dennis, but I think John is right about the water-colors. Seems like they'd be less corrosive to the material.
  4. I've matched colors by sanding the same type of wood and making a fine dust that I'd mix with stainable PVA glue. Good for repairing splinters, gouges, or even building up small areas of an edge. If you want odd colors, you can try food coloring. It'll mix with PVA, and or water.
  5. Heck Danny, after all the work you've done over the last months, I think a little "slackness", or even an extended vacation should be allowed. Happy Holidays to you and yours!
  6. You've done a nice job with the stays and shrouds, and the worming is clearly visible.
  7. That's going to make a great base John. A 14" bandsaw would be just the ticket for trimming and squaring that slab up.
  8. Hi Ken: Captain Steve posted a little more info about the stern config. if you're interested. http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/9468-us-frigates-constitutions-stern-during-1812-the-question-of-questions-5-or-6-windows/page-5#entry374649
  9. Happy Christmas Sjors! Nice job painting the figurehead.
  10. The gallery's planking looks good! Have a Merry Christmas Ken!
  11. Nice work-around Sal. Have a great Holiday Season yourself!
  12. Sorry to hear about that sickness Dave, but with all that bad weather, maybe it's a blessing in disguise.
  13. It's surely an amazing job you're doing on her John, and a pleasure to watch being built. I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
  14. Congratulations on a really fine build John. She looks splendid. A job that well done certainly deserves a dust free environment like a case though. At least worth considering.
  15. I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and an even better New Year to come Geoff!
  16. That's a fine looking rudder Sjors. I hope you and Anja have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
  17. Hi Piet; Just wanted to send you and yours my best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
  18. If you want to go with the 5-window layout, it looks like 4 of the stern timbers will have to be moved inwards toward the center. the 2 inboard ones on each side. And doing that will also mean relocating the outside gun ports as well. I don't have the AOTS for Connie yet though.
  19. I'd like to take a minute to wish you and all your followers a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year Mark!
  20. Nenad: Just taking a minute to give you and your family my best wishes over the Holiday Season. Take care my friend!
  21. I've got a few pics of the stern as she sets now Ken, along with a 1914 pic and stern gallery shot of how she is now as well. I'd also like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
