  1. I think you've done a splendid job on what looks like an extremely difficult part of the assembly.
  2. Nice work Tom. She looks great! Just wondering if you were thinking of rigging the hatches at all, or just as is.
  3. Hate to hear that Jesse! One solution I've found to work pretty well for really small things lost in the carpet, is those lint remover rollers after lightly brushing the rug with a backwards sweep of a comb to bring them back up to the top. Might help retrieve most of the parts.
  4. Beautiful rigging work Henry! This is a perfect example of the time it actually takes to achieve the realism that many strive for, but don't/won't, or can't take the time for. Very nice!
  5. These are the profiles I was meaning. There's one sheet with nothing but the keel and bulkheads, and another with nothing but framing, all shown separately along with these 2, a deck plan, separate plans for the lifeboats, a complete rigging layout and belaying plan in 2 more sheets. 8 sheets in total for this ship.
  6. Thanks Jack. That's good to know because if someone wanted to scratch build this ship, those plans would be a must.
  7. Are there any 1:1 scale plans showing profiles, deck fittings, and rigging for pulling measurements from directly?
  8. All things considered after looking at the - cough cough - highly detailed instructions , I'd say your doing very well Jack!
  9. Yeah, but all that extra work will be worth it in the end result, and I can't wait to see it.
  10. Sometimes "life" gets in the way of other things we would rather do Nenad, but we have to deal with what is more important at the time.
  11. You're doing amazing work Marc. It almost looks like it's more work furling the sails, than it would be to leave them unfurled, and rigging from there.
  12. Hairdressers or beauty salons would carry the 99% rubbing alcohol also as an alternative source.
  13. Wow what a bummer Grant. They looked so good too! But I know you'll come up with a suitable fix before long!
  14. Those are some great pics John. Isn't it amazing what a difference actual daylight does for the quality of the photo? I'll be spending the next few months getting accessories for a few of the power tools I already have, so I'll be in contact in the next few months for stuff for the mill and other goodies. Edit: Almost forgot to ask if you were planning on putting her up in the Gallery here?
  15. Here's one source! Link: http://www.specialshapes.com/
  16. I think you did good Jesse, considering working with basswood. There's something I remember from another poster, (can't remember which one) , who "hardened" the basswood he was working on, with thin CA so it would hold an edge better. Don't know if that will work with the cheeks and head rails though, but it might be worth investigating.
  17. Very nice Dennis. You're giving the boys a great introduction into the modeling world with this perfect example of what can be accomplished with a little extra work.
  18. That's a cool looking stand Nenad. Complete with a hidden compartment. I like it!
  19. I know how that feels Mike. Just take it easy until things tighten themselves back up again.
  20. I know you'll make her match Dave. In the end, we only have ourselves to please or satisfy.
  21. As usual very nice work all around Bob, but I especially like how the pumps turned out.
