  1. Greg there isn't a quoin under the barrel in the rear. The red arrow indicates the quoin!
  2. Is there a quoin under the rear of the barrel that can be pushed in or out to raise and lower the gun?
  3. I agree. It does look 100% more uniform and symmetrical! Nice!
  4. Nice job on the repair Pat. No one will ever know it was ever needed, except us of course.
  5. I hear that Dennis. Some buddies of mine went out and bought snow machines, and now have to go north 600 miles to find enough snow to run them on.
  6. Very nice work Kay! I think we all wish we could carve like that.
  7. The iron-work turned out great and looks much stronger Grant. Nice fix!
  8. Hate to hear about re-does, but your solution looks like it will work out much better. I know that's a word I'll be getting myself acquainted with soon enough.
  9. It might vary from country to country with ship-building practices too. I don't know! The ship I was referring to is the Constitution, so maybe the Montanes was a different time-period/country and had different ship-building practices?
  10. Wow - You've been busy! You guys up there getting any of that weather Dennis?
  11. The kit I have calls for 1/16" x 1/8" planks also, but it's a little smaller at 1:76.
  12. I think a lot of people who buy those expensive saws are using them professionally and making a living with them. No one appreciates quality tools like me, but for our purposes, and how much we'll actually use them, I myself can't justify spending $1,000 - $1500 plus, on one, -- -- at least not yet!
  13. Outstanding work Frank! There isn't enough adjectives!
  14. It isn't until you see it in your hand, you really appreciate the minute detail in this little boat. Amazing work Patrick!
  15. Sounds an awful lot like the kind of weather Ken's (Canute) expecting, only with 11" to 15" of snow over the ice.
  16. Very nice Dave! Good idea casting all those frames. At least they're a consistent size making that part easier. Even with a jig, making 60 of them out of wood would be tedious at best. Edit: Didn't see a notification on the main page Dave, but I hope you have a very Happy Birthday!
  17. Yup - A rebel that goes where Angels fear to tread Mike! As long as it keeps getting good results, following the "guide book" to the letter is optional.
  18. Nice work Ken! Been wondering that myself and wondering how easy that will be once all of the rigging is in place. Maybe utilizing the unused burton pendants somehow to rig a 4 point lift between the Fore and Main masts, accessible from the outside of the hull?
  19. Outstanding work Ed! It's been a pleasure following along!
